Adebayor and Bendtner

Premier League Arsenal

comment on the article

I was at the game last night and was wondering what the television coverage was like of the Adebayor - Bendtner spat near the end. As far as I could see, those two had a disagreement and Bendtner was holding his nose a lot, before Gallas (and the ref) had to separate them. Does anyone know what happened?

I know they're both players with a history of trouble, although they haven't really shown that side of themselves before at Arsenal, so I'd be quite pleased if we could sort this issue (if there is one) out.

Recent History? 94/95. I don't like getting old either but that is 13 years ago. Ok, for the record, since the turn of the century Arsenal have had sending off after sending off and an awful disciplinary record. That was my point, I will ensure I do not beat around anyone's bush in future and specify time, date, incident, attendance at game, personnell involved etc etc.

I'm not blind, Utd have had serious issues, but they are highlighted as Mr Lips pointed proved due to them being few and far between. And you can't blame Eric, I would have tried to kick him in the face if he had shouted abuse about my mother!

yes of course kicking ppl in the face is appropriate response for verbal abuse isnt it.!

man utd hav the ref in their pocket 60% of the time so not only are the protected from many sendings off but other teams who play against them get sent off. lol

and arsenal!?? they are one of the cleanest teams in the prem. Our sexy football had other teams hacking us down like anything. Alex Hleb this year should have had so many ppl sent off who tackled HIm not the other way around. our team is a generally physically 'weak' team. plz get facts straight

Right.

SINCE THE TURN OF THE CENTURY ( year 2000ad ) Arsenal have had an extremely poor disciplinary record. Between 2000 & 2004 alone there were 25!!!

I agree, since you have let go of keown the munster, lollipop head veira and the other vigilantes, and have replaced the team with talented young 'weak' ladies, your record has been very good.

Ok Sasquatch I see where you're going with this.

Well, I counter your point by saying that our team now is so different from even 3 years ago that a comparison of our disciplinary attitude then and now is so inappropriate. Do you know how many of our players now were playing then? hmmm none is a pretty close estimate.

Due to such a high player turnaround you cannot say Arsenal have a bad discipline record since the year. A correct statement would be to say "from 2000 to 2003 Arsenal FC had a poor disciplinary record, since that time they have got significantly better and rely on sexy football as oppose to agression to win games"

!! boo ya!!

Well done. Pat on the back, you are now a team of footballers, not thugs. Shame you are still a team of unsuccesful footballers but well done all the same.

Peace out! Sexy time!

Of course you would have. I'm absolutely certain the reason Utd have won so much is because the referee is always in our pocket, we score stuffy late goals ( nothing to do with perserverence ) and Arsenal have had so much bad luck.
Good luck for the remainder of the season and your foreign revolution

What a joke. Arsenal are so undisciplined and yet for some reason the refs let them get away with it time and time again. No wonder fans all around the country sing about their cheating. They can brawl in the middle of the pitch. No cards. Stamp on John Terry's foot. No cards again. Dive every time somebody so much as brushes past them. No cards. Blatantly trip players in the box (as Senderos did earlier this week) and still no cards. What do they have to do before something is done about it?

To make matters worse this lack of respect for the sport seems to be rubbing off on the Arsenal fans. In this week's match against AC Milan, Milan put the balls out twice so that "injured" Arsenal players could get treatment. Unsurprisingly, as soon as the ball was out of play up get the Arsenal players, completely unharmed. When Arsenal then injured one of Milan's players (this time a genuine injury, he had to be stretchered off the pitch) the Arsenal fans had the audacity to boo because the game was stopped! The ethics of the club have evaporated the last couple of seasons. It seems to be a sign of things to come that they will go to any lengths for some success. I hope they realise it will be a hollow victory.
