Wow, I thought Arsenal supporters were better than this. You can't have it both ways, you ca'nt keep preaching that your "boys" are brilliant and as good as other first teams, but then claim you don't care when the boys meet some men and get trounced. It's simply two-faced.

EH YEAH WE CAN.
IT'S A WIN WIN SITUATION.

THEY ARE YOUNG AND GAINING EXPERIENCE.

IF THEY BEAT SOMEONE...WE SAY GREAT WIN FOR THE YOUNG LADS.

IF THEY LOSE...WE SAY WELL THEY'RE ONLY YOUNG LADS LEARNING THE GAME.

PEOPLE WHO SAY WE SHOULD HAVE PLAYED A MORE EXPERIENCED TEAM ARE WRONG.
WE PLAYED A FULL STRENGTH CHELSEA TEAM OFF THE PARK FOR 1ST HALF OF FINAL LAST YEAR.
THATS EXPERIENCE.
WE HAVE BEST RECORD IN CARLING CUP IN LAST 4 YEARS WITH OUR YOUNGSTERS.
AND NOW WHEN WE HAVE HAD TO CALL THE ODD ONE INTO THE FIRST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE ETC THEY HAVE STOOD UP TO THE TASK.
...AS SPURS FANS WILL AGREE I.E BENDTNER WINNER!!
DONT TELL ARSENE WENGER HOW TO IMPROVE PLAYERS, I THINK HE KNOWS.
"ARSENE KNOWS"

I'd rather have won the last game than having to live in the past. And I don't like EITHER team.

WELL THATS EASY TO SAY WITH YOUR PAST!!!!!

I keep hearing the word young, hmm? I'm curious to know how many "reserves" actually played.
Gallas - first team and captain on the night
Hoyte - played a fair share of games
Djourou - had good playing time
Sagna - I seem to remember him in the 2-1 defeat
Gilberto - okay so he hasnt played a lot this season but he's a brazillian international
Hleb - nuff said
Fabregas - hmm? Fabregas, why do I know that name so well?
Diaby - is he a regular or is he a regular?
Bendtner - gets regular playing time whether as a sub or starting
Walcott - albeit terrible has had a lot of starts with arsenal
then the subs come on who failed in salvation Adebayor and Eduardo, remind me of the kids in the team pleeeease!

With a full strength team available only Fab (who wouldnt have been on so early if not 4 injury), Sagna, Hleb and Gallas would have played.

Hence the rest were the "reserve" team. Pick 4 players from the Tott first choice line up, fill the rest with ur reserves and then tell me its the same team strength.

Lets not take too much away from them, they put in a cracking performance but equally don't think for a moment you would have got away with the same stuff vs a full strength, fully fit arsenal lineup.

Well, lets just say the better team won. Having been a spurs fan all my life I have had to endure my fair share of comments....We proved a point on Tueday night. We can play as a team...play well and win well. It was deserved overall. I just hope that this can continue and we finish in a reasonable position after a dreadful start. Cummon u spurs

Friendly Gooner back.

Well, now you know who your playing at Wembley,I wonder if you'll show the same commitment and tenacity against Chelsea, that you showed against Arsenal.

Go on I dare you,After all,you didn't at Stamford Bridge a few days after the 1st leg of CC at The Emirates. You put in a miserable performance and lost 2-0.

Still,I expect it'll be more of the same against ManYoo at the W/E. You've got to a cup final at last, that should keep you going for a few years. If you can really, really raise your game against Utd,take them back to The Lane, then give them a good thrashing(like you gave us,[well deserved by the way])If you can do that, that would be great.Well I can dream cant I?

Anyway joking aside, the best of luck at OT

Cheers--grandGoonerama--

Arsenal dont take the carling cup seriously and only use it as a training tournament for the younger players. Arsene Wenger has said this for a long time. Arsenal have still won it the most times even with our reserves team.

This is spurs only chance to get any silverware for the next 10 years. They wont be playing in Europe next year whereas Arsenal will be.

Its taken them 9 years to beat our reserves team who had an awful game and deserved to get a kicking by any lower opposition team.

----------------------------
lol.. i laughed when i heard this.. 9 years to beat ur reserves? read above and it shows that most of them reserves.. and 9 years?! we havent been against ur "reserves" before.. so obviously it hadnt taken 9 years has it? go figure??
