Cup of Nations - Day Three

comment on the article

Day three of the Africa Cup of Nations and I'm hoping for the trend of brilliant goals to continue. (Think Sulley Muntari, think Salomon Kalou.)

The two ties today see reigning champions Egypt take on Cameroon before Zambia play Sudan.

I'll be doing the clockwatch for these fixtures and I'm keen to know what you think will happen.

Also, the countries involved are four that I don't know all that much about so if there is anything interesting about them that you want to let me know please e-mail in.

You can follow the clockwatch here:

Enjoy.

I have never been comfortable to underate Zambia and i know chipolopolo boys have the potential to beat cameroun on saturday. They are a team full of suprises and they can beat any team on their day. Zambia just needs the confidence and they can spoil the party for the Lions. While we expect the lions to be hungry, the copper bullets may just be as dangerous with their acrobatic captain christopher katongo.. I would say, keep your fingers crossed!

After day three of play, I want to think that the real giants of African football will now appear on the scene. Remember that the teams standing for the African cup of nations are winners in their precious groups. So no team is weak. But I think Cmeroon has a long way to go. That team is suffering from old age. I would like to know how national team players for the Cameroon side are selected.

Zambia Done Well Against Sudan, But I Rekon We Could Get A Draw Again Cameroon And Possibly Get a Late Goal To Win. But Egypt Will Be A Hard Match For Zambia.

Cameroon wont be as bad again as they were agianst Egypt. They are much more likely winners than the holders.

Learn from what you see in the past.

Group stages of WC, ACN, EC etc ALWAYS have impressive teams in the groups who never go far.

Zambia will bother Egypt more than Cameroon.

Despite who they're missing, more than any other side here, Zambia are still a very dangerous side.

Btw....why did nobody in Europe pick James Chamanga up after the last ACN?

He is class and can finish and yet is in South Africa's premier.

Top scorer i hasten to add

Zambia go go go ! After the 1993 tragedy and funds going missing it was always going to be a few years before we were back but here we are and it feels great - win or lose Zambia will celebrate like mad. Watch out world, here we come!

Yeh about upsets in Group C I would love to see Sudan beat Cameroon and cause one but like I said Zambia and Sudan are going home.
AND to the delight of Newcastle, Everton, & Portsmouth to name a few clubs; the Super Eagles (a.k.a. Crap Eagles) are headed home as well! They way they are playing they did not deserve to qualify let alone show up and embarrass themselves and Nigeria's Legacy!

hello bbc. i am so happy for Eto'o because Eto'o is the greatest player in African and we can call him the King of African Football.
i will like to ask this Question.how many goals has Drogba scored in the African Cup of Nations? I am proud of Samuel Eto'o Fils' achievements thus far. How many great African soccer players were there to challenge Laurent Poku as compared to the number of amirable talents from the whooping 16 contesting nations in today's tournament? Eto'o has just weathered the challenge storm to achieve this laudable milestone. It's now up as a challenge to other African players to surpass his record and do Africa proud. Stop your bickering and empty arguements about how good is Eto'o compared to Poku. Their days in the game are far apart - Poku left the scene in 1970 when Eto'o was not born; realize that!!! Bravo to my 'African Soldier'.what Cameroun have in Samuel. Congratulations brother!
thanks
