For all you WUMs stay away!

A draw on the face of it is an OK result and i'll take it, but too be fair we bossed the game and but for a freak deflection we'd have beat Villa comfortably. But thats been the story of our season so far, had we 'Fergie-Time' every week, or guaranteed penalties for tripping over stray pieces of grass at home or away we'd be a couple of places above, plus we've a game in hand on the rest so fear not fellow REDS ignore the WUMs and let's get concentrate on the FA and Champions League!

PS this ones for lawrenson - we're not all cockney Reds, but if they will jump on the band-wagon who can blame them!

Why are ***SOME*** Liverpool fans saying that the owners are the ones who are making Liverpool look daft? OK so they talked to another manager. Not ideal but lets look at why people might be laughing at Liverpool;

• Jealousy
• Anti-Scouse sentiment
• Ignorance
• Boredom. Either nothing happening at their club of choice at the moment or no history to revel in.

Before you go on, I want Rafa gone at the end of the season. But for a long time now I've wanted the press to stop creating an anti-liverpool atmosphere, and for so many football 'fans' to stop swallowing it and regurgitating it.

I know which one is going to happen.

Well I have to disagree with you there. Maybe ‘All’ was a sweeping statement but I have yet to see a ‘Pool fan agree with the owners to look for a new manager. You hinted at it in your post that you want Rafa gone but have still failed to admit they were right to do so. So firstly can you clear up that point up? Is what they did right or wrong? If it was wrong but you don’t want Rafa there anymore what do you suggest? They sack him after the season, spend half the transfer market finding a new manager and as such making the new guys job harder as he has less time to prepare for the new season resulting in another poor season?

On the reasons you gave to why people laugh at Liverpool well lets look at those

• Jealousy – Of what? Please don’t say a rich history. Every other club is looking forward not backwards. You should give it a try

• Anti-Scouse sentiment – So everyone hates the scousers then? Why don’t we all have a go at Everton then? Maybe because they look forward at improving themselves rather than back at past glories and don’t have an undeserved arrogance that they will win the league (yes United, Arsenal and Chelsea do have this arrogance but we’ve all won the league or challenged for it over the last few seasons. You’ve never even won the prem!)

• Ignorance – Not sure if you’ve used the right word here but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you mean we are ‘showing a lack of knowledge’ as is the definition of the word. What knowledge are we lacking that you have that if we knew we would no longer laugh at the current situation at Liverpool?

• Boredom. Either nothing happening at their club of choice at the moment or no history to revel in. – You’ve proved my point here. You always bang on about your history. I hate to point it out to you but if carry on the way your going most of your supporters are going to be using this argument even though they weren’t around during the ‘glory days’. And furthermore, things are happening at every club that should interest them. United, Chelsea, Arsenal challenging for the league. Newcastle getting a manager they really wanted. City, Everton, Villa challenging for a fourth spot, Spurs in the Carling cup final and beating their old rivals for the first time in 9 years! Hardly boring season for most.

i dont need to elaborate. Your reply is simply conjecture based on your own opinion. Plenty of scousers hate mancs and don't have a go at city fans.

You have made the same mistakes as benitez. you have over-analysed the entire situation to meet your own arrogant ends, your belief that you can be the victors by bending the truth.

All this entire situation is doing is making everybody review the clubs stuttering progress in winning the league - or to use a fergieism - knocking chelsea off their perch. In doing so this makes the club stronger in the long run. No title last year and the glazers would be doing the same.

Oh and as a professional analyst i disagree with your disregard for history. most projections, or 'looking to the future' as you call it, are based upon regression.

"To think that a headed goal by steve bruce in the 7th minute of injury time wasn't luck shows how much of an idiot you are. To think of scoring two goals in injury time without letting Bayern have any time to respond shows how much of an idiot you are"

So basically you managed to call me an idiot for picking valid EXAMPLES, then picked out examples from years ago to back up your own arguments? The hypocrisy there is almost unreal. Did I also say these weren't lucky times? No. Did I say United haven't had good luck along the past 20 years? No. The best teams have this "luck" because they play the best. Obviously there is chance involved but when you are a great team, your chances of nicking goals are vastly incraesed. Liverpool are not the best and haven't been for a long time, and therefore do not have this "luck" because they simply don't have the quality to consistently convert draws into wins. Anyone who says the difference between Liverpool and United is luck is clueless about football.

The huge shouts for handball when it is in fact nothing just highlights this attitude at Anfield. -----------------------------------------------

to think that this doesnt go one elsewhere shows how much of an idiot you are

Did I say this doesn't go on elsewhere? No. What is obvious though when you watch Liverpool games at Anfield is the sheer volume of the shouts for RIDICULOUS appeals and then Liverpool fans talking (usually on MOTD) about how they could/should have had penalties and how the opponents appeals were nothing. See the Carragher examples this season. Anything that hits any part at all of an opposing player in the box seems to raise a massive appeal, yet when United don't get blatant penalties it gets ignored and therefore forgotten. ABUs seem to take pride in the idea that United get gifted penalties every game, yet if they actually tried watching a United game or two they might notice over a season that this is in fact complete and utter crap.

--------------------------------------------------------
To say that Liverpool don't get their fair share of luck (the famous Champions league runs anyone?)
-----------------------------------
To then attempt to analyse a season based on one game shows how much of an idiot you are

See previous comments on hypocrisy. Where did I say one game exactly? Where did I analyse a season here? The only person looking an idiot here is you.

-------------------------------------------

"Will any Liverpool fan ever face upto the fact that they are just not good enough this season and not blame it on luck?
-----------------------------------------------------------------

To think every scouser blames luck shows how much of an idiot you are

It seems that a very large portion of Liverpool supporters on this board to seem to blame luck - see the comments a couple above this one. Again I want to re-iterate that luck is obviously a factor in football but if over a very long period of time you aren't anywhere close to the title, to blame your lack of luck and to say that other teams are constant beneficiaries is just ridiculous and shows how blinkered some supporters are.

Luckypool were lucky to score.
Luckypool were lucky to win.
Luckypool were lucky to win the EC.
Luckypool were lucky to The FA Cup.
Luckypool were lucky to win the CL.
Luckypool were lucky to the league (in every year we won it).
Etc

So if and when we win anything it is (according to the Mancs) down to LFC's extraordinary good luck.

Thus if and when we don't win - it must, by the same logic, be that luck is against us.

Go figure.

I'm continually amazed at the amount of times, when i respond to somebodies inadequecies by using their own paradigm against them that they come back with:

Logic:

Universally accepted that Liverpool are constantly celebrating their own history.

Thus not much time left to talk about anything or anybody else

once again massive over-analysis, not based on a collective understanding or palimpsest but on one's own ego.
