This is truly looking to be a nice unpredictable 6Ns and would not exclude any result. Looking forward to every game.
Geogheganwasgod - Do you think EOS will finally stick to his word and start picking players who are on form? This is his big weakness. He seems to show "loyalty" to a select few. It is a corrosive and short sighted policy. It fails to prepare the "fringe" players and has to be demoralising and despiriting for the form players. If the gossip is correct, he also appears to allow his "favourites" to pick the side, which is also not a good sign as the coach.

Nah, I never reckon EOS will base his selections based on form, he keeps saying he will, but never does, until a player cannot be ignored, like Jamie Heaslip. I keep hoping that he will, all the same. I would love to see Fitzgerald in, and Tommy Bowe is obviously in the form of his life. The problem is, Bowe and EOS apparently had a big bust-up a while ago, and steady Eddie seems to never forgive players for that, and doesn't pick them again. It's the same with his attitude to Irish players who play overseas. It has to be at the stage that the player in question is just too good to leave out, like Geordan Murphy and Eoin Reddan. This doesn't change the fact that Bob Casey should be brought into the Irish squad, he is an amazing player with the Exiles. I could go on for ages about players who are in-form (Cullen, Jennings, Gleeson, etc.), but are not picked, thus blowing apart Eddie's 'promise' that he only picks players based on form. And if it's true that he allows his favourites to select the team, then he truly is an incompetent coach who should be got rid of as soon as possible!

Prediction:
Ireland will hammer Scotland, beat Wales well and - as usual, will take England (5-in-a-row) - for the Crown. Anyone watching the 2nd half of the match v France should see that Ireland have found the "belief" again. We just need to start a match like we finish it! The team has improved greatly since last year, IMO. It just needs more time to gel. Heaslip, Kearney, Reddan, Jackman and Mick O Driscoll have given us great hope for the future. Not to mention Fitzgerald (saw him at the RDS for Leinster on Sat – magic!).

If we cut out the silly mistakes (we gave 2 tries on a plate to France) - we will win our last 3 games with ease. Sorry Wales, I don’t mean to burst your bubble for this years 6-N, but the smart rugby people amongst ye know it’s true.

Wales for the Crown & maybe the Championship…next year. Gatland & Edwards are excellent coaches & mean serious business, but it won’t happen for them this year. They are chopping and changing too much in an effort to suss out what is required to take them to the next level. This is why I believe Wales will be a strong force next year. They will have had a year with - IMO, the two best coaches in the NH. I'm so jealous and I am magnanimous enough to admit it.

Cymru, your future is bright and it’s beginning to sparkle. But patience is required.Beware of Italy though. They could & should have beaten Ireland & England.
I think they may take Wales and will take Scotland again this year.

Sorry to hear Andy Gomarsall has been dropped from Saturdays game against France. He is keen and always appears to have a WINNING frame of mind (much needed) but it was very nice to read his column and hear how delighted he is at Wigglesworth taking his place and the complimentory things he said about the lad even though he was gutted at having to miss Saturdays match against France and is determined to prove he is worth bringing back into the squad.Philippe Saint- Andre praised Wigglesworth to the sky and was convinced he was the right choice ( surely this is a man that is a Rugby man before being a nationalist)He also says there is a young man the French will be bringing out and it will be good to see these two youngsters go for it.Still stinging under Lewsey's rough treatment, the above news must give a fillip to all surely? Come on England. Show us some magic Men of the rose Roll on Saturday hoping all teams have a good day.
