I think the reason we can't come up with anything other than jibes about poor attendance etc. is the very reason as to why we are challenging your claim - there simply is very little to talk about where Wigan are concerned, hence why I think you'll find an awful lot of people are considering you to be talking a load of rubbish lol. My God, the very fact that we have Ipswich fans siding with us so-called "boring" Norfolk-ites says an awful lot! And why haven't we mentioned the Bayern Munchen game? We don't need to winkeye...

theres a lot to talkabout when it comes to wigan. 14 years ago we were bottom of the football league going bust and now were living the dream.

Wigan are a fantastic club with a much brighter future than norwich.

i can see that it hurts, obviously being knocked out the cup off bury and the fact that youve nothing to look forward to for a few years would hurt anyone.

honestly its so funny reading all the comments above, you lot even sound boring!!! laugh

Wow. I'm blown away. That really is interesting...

...

...

...a pretty short history then? "Living the dream" - if that isn't clichéd I don't know what is. If you don't mind, I'm going to leave you on your high horse because clearly you feel a strange sense of superioty because you've been in the top flight for 2 and a bit seasons and have reached one League Cup final winkeye

Bickering aside, good luck to Wigan. Like I said earlier, I've got nothing against teams such as yourselves, but I do find it rather dull when one is made to put up with the squit that pours forth from your good self winkeye I think the very fact that there are a fair few fans on this thread alone who've conveyed similar feelings should have flicked a switch somewhere deep inside your psyche, but clearly it hasn't. Yet...

good comments and fair play to you.

However, isnt the fact that the short history and the fact we are in the premiership better than most historys considering that we only got in to the league in 1972?? there is no other "wigan athletics" in the world our story is a unique one. Your right, it is and old cliche, and an over used one, however in our case its so true and nobody can deny that can they.

And i do feel "a strange sense of superioty" because the fact that we are superior to you makes me proud because 10 years ago clubs like Norwich looked down on clubs like wigan, and now its good to "look down" on the ex-big clubs.

Just because we dont have your fan base it doesnt mean to say your club is bigger and better, just look at the league tables. And i still stand by my original comments of norwich being boring, because they very much are. Ask anybody outside of Anglia and they will confirm just that.cheers ale

Are you still here????

What a sad little man, your life must be real ineresting to come on here and have a pop at us for no particular reason. I've never really had an opinion on Wigan, the most interesting thing to happen to them is having Stevie Bruce in charge, but no doubt he'll clear off again in a year or two when a better offer comes along.

Anyway, why on earth am I wasting more of my time on a boring, insignificant little little nosewipe like you? You've infiltrated my headspace for far too long already.

Go away now please.

Oh, so who's coming out with all the boring, cliched old rubbish now then? And you've already mentioned Delia so isn't it about time we started asking you if you've got elecricity and what life is like working up at mill?

No, I can't be bothered.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not listening anymore.

Ask anybody outside of any particular region of the country and they'll say the same thing you know. I'v met many people who say that Mancunians, Northerners, Southerners, Norfolk folk etc. are boring, it's all a matter of perspective. However, I've always maintained that we're all entitled to individual opinions and I shall stand by that even if I do think you're being a bit of a pillock for saying it winkeye

Aside from that, I'd think there's a fairly good reason for your rise to fame chap - it's called Dave Whelan and JJB Sports lol. Money has helped a long way to get you to where you are now, but I don't think quick rises in success equates to big/successful clubs. I'd also be inclined to say that Reading could be classed in the same bracket as you in that they've hit the big time in relatively dramatic fashion and have leapt up the leagues to now be in the top flight, and fair play to the both of you. Of course, good managers in people like Paul Jewell and Steve Coppell have had to create teams and now both sides are the better off for such development but the financial backing of people like Whelan and Madejski has helped a hell of a lot.

I would never say that Norwich have ever been a a club of a size to rival teams such as Liverpool, Man. Utd etc. but I would say that we're (what one may consider to be) fairly well-established as a club in English football in comparison to Wigan who, as I think we've come to agree, have only recently clambered up the divisions to become a top flight side. Big fanbases don't always equate to successful sides (take Newcastle as an example) but I think it represents the process of becoming an established club over time, and I've no doubt that if Wigan remain predominantly a top flight side over the next decade or two, and become a successful club, your fanbase will grow. With that, like I've said before and will say again no doubt, best of luck to Wigan for this season and those to come ale

Thought there were a lot of comments! Then realised the thread had been hijacked.
A lot of rubbish has been posted here about Norwich.
Mucho respect to their fans offering congrats on this site to us.
I was at both games and I thought we were just up for it more and took our chances when they presented themselves.
One final point in Norwich's favour - the attendance at Carrow Road for the 1st game compared very favourably with even the top ties.
