Work permit accepted

Championship Watford

Watford midfielder Al Bangura has been granted permission to stay in the country. What a great result for everyone connected to football. So pleased for the lad. I hope his injury clears up so he can play and help us sort out this mess. I never really thought Al was a asset for us before all this deportation talk and now he has been granted to stay it feels like he is our star man. Well done Al and thanks goes to everyone who supported the young Hornet through this rough patch. There is only one song to sing now. Maybe this will signal the end of our bad form at home and after Saturday away preformances too.

I knew this country was not that stupid.

So if he's got a kid with an English girl, then I would assume they are in a serious relationship. So why the hell didn't he just marry her and all his problems are sorted?

No wonder footballers have a reputation as being stupid!

I am so glad the government has had a bit of common sense and allowed him to stay - he is over here legally working and paying taxes, a lot more that can be said for the millions who are over here illegally!!

If they are married with a kid it does not sort out all the problems. My uncle has a Thai wife with a 6 year old daughter, and when he came back to UK to live his wife OR child were not allowed to come with him - not even on a visit!!!

Although im not a Watford fan, i am extremely happy that Al Bangura has been granted a work permit. He is a magnificent footballer and always deserved to stay in the country. i am glad the government has seen sense!!

What that foreign doctor at your local hospital who contributes more to society, than poxy reserve team football player ?
Double standards anyone ?
If he gets deported who cares ?, that would be the attitude from many. sadface

Well the home office probably thought that she only married him so she could live in the UK. Is there a big age gap between them?

But with Bangura he might be able to prove to marriage is legit. But I don't know the details of his relationship with his girlfriend to be honest.

Good to see the Home Office using a bit of common sense at last.
This country needs controlled immigration to function. Skills and services that are in demand should be open to overseas residents on either temporary visas or permanent rights to stay.
This lad clearly has a talent and we as a nation are now all the richer for having him live here. I for one will be looking out for the Watford results i the future.
