awrite ppl !

am a big darts fan and watched both championships , Av read on these pages ppl arguing about which organisation is better and so-on.

to sum it up i think both are pretty decent, if they are going to stay with seperate championships how dae they not just narrow it down to 16 people per tournament and make it starting at 5 sets then 6 in the quaters 7 in the semi's then 9 in the final
, the quality of the best players would shine through and it would have the making of better tournaments.

whilst a think the top 16 are far better in the pdc , the top 16 in the bdo arent tht far off them considerin i think the pdc was pretty rubbish this year ( lot of illness and big players under performing and the final was rubbish aswell )

the likes of webster , anderson , fitton , adams , thornton and woods would all do well in the pdc imo

so either cut the 2 tournaments down to 16 players each or merge the 2 with the best 16 from each and its got the making of a class championship

i think over the year these players have done ther best to get into the top 16 and have worked hard all year to be at ther best for the world championships

a felt sorry for terry jenkins in the pdc , as i thot if he'd beaten shephard wen u look at the draw he would of won it if he'd played his 'a' game

whether the early rounds are any good or not, i would prefer to see the last 64 or 32 on tv.

the more darts the better, it is still of a watchable standard and fills the tv with something interesting around xmas.

imagine not showing the fa cup till the 5th round!

You have got to keep it to 32 to give players a chance to compete who have been on the tour all season.

PDC tournament is better IMO because of the quality of players.

And whoever said this years BDO final was the best ever - don't you remember last year!!! - Nixon vs. Adams

webster , anderson , fitton , adams , thornton would all do well in the pdc imo
--------------------------------------------
Webster has a bright future, He wont turn professional tho, well not yet. I know where his prize money is going and it would be wrong for me to say.
Anderson will leave next year, he has to many contracts with overseas exhibitions.
Fitton will not leave the BDO as he wants to win Lakeside, and until he has done this he wont go anywhere.
Adams is happy turning up for the tournements and getting a few bob, and doesnt like leaving his comfort zone.
Thornton has played the PDC, and reached the QTR Finals of the UK OPEN 2006.
Due to the finicial demands of the PDC he headed back to the BDO, and easily won the Masters. Thornton is only with the BDO until he generates enough money to head back to the PDC on a fulltime basis, and winning the Masters will give him more sponsorship deals for sure.
This week at the Lakeside tho back stage, I heard a few talks about some "unnamed players" who might be switching codes come February.
You heard it here first winkeye

People have short memories. the PDC has one year where the best players underperform and suddenly the BDO is the better tournament. Please. Last year was the most pathetic final I have seen. The PDC has a superior WC, and a superior tour circuit. The premier league starts soon where thousands pay to watch in attendance. At the same time the BDO players will probably be playing in front of 50 people in a town hall.

the PDC is so much better. better players and more entertaining to watch. it has more showbiz about it which makes it more popular than the BDO

In Snooker there is something called the Challenge Tour, where up and coming players ply their trade in an attempt to gain enough ranking points to qualify for the main world tour.

The BDO is fast becoming the darts equivalent, with the PDC being the world tour.

Having said that, the standard of the final between Webster and Whitlock was breathtaking.
