Well after a long night nodding on and off and being disappointed like the rest of us I hope people don't make too much of this defeat.
Yes he made some awful errors coupled with Tsonga on fire at times but I for one am sure he will fight back.
There will be a lot of oh I told you so's but realistically this is a grand slam over 5 sets. Any opponent will up his game and Tsonga did just that and is also an up and coming player and I knew this was not an easy draw for him and I hope the people who thought this was an easy draw and posting his route to the final show a bit more respect to his opponents. On paper tennis looks easy but it rarely is and let's not forget this is the first Grand Slam on the year at a very early time.
Does this mean he was wrong to choose team Murray? for me no as he was playing a good opponent in a grand slam so let's not jump on a bandwagon and start saying he was wrong to part with Gilbert. Murray is doing it his way and he will know more than anyone else that any player can get a day like this and does this mean he is any less a player? of course not. He is still the talented player he was last week so let's not forget that as everyone throws stones at him

"In this way he is similar to Roddick who also can not move fast enough and has heavy feet.Although I think Roddick is a better athlete that Murray.
If you watch you see how clumsily he moves and how his ability to move his feet, and body fast is very limited"
I don't think I've ever read anything on this lamentable thread that is further from the truth.
Are you sure you've actually seen him play?
erm

Yeah, i agree with federalexpress. There is no way Andy Murray can be described as clumsy. You need tremendous balance to control the shots he plays. And he has a brilliant array of shots. The next time you see him control a back-hand pass down the line tell me if his technique looks clumsy.

Nonsense. Maybe he's not quite as fit as Federer and Nadal (and maybe some others), i'll give you that. But the guy's 20 and he has the most important thing in abundance. Ability.

Excatly. Apart from when he went over on his ankle I have yet to see a less clumsy player.
He always looks in control to me.

you will all be saying the same in 10 years time and all expecting him to break through at any time just like Tim Henman. Lets see how he does at wimbledon but dont hold your breath.

Lloyd puts the kiss of death on another British hopeful! Over here in Germany no-one has ever heard of Murray.

"Over here in Germany no-one has ever heard of Murray."

Considering his ranking I suspect that's nonsense. It's a bit like saying no-one in Britain had heard of Tipsarevic before yesterday. Besides, you're in Germany, and you've heard of him.

Points taken! What I really meant was that when John Lloyd starts spouting on about a lot of people expecting Murray to get to the semi-finals it just puts a lot of pressure on another British hopeful. On a related point-I think it was a mistake for him to have got rid of his trainer.

I genuinely don't believe Andy Murray will ever has the mentality and physicality to win a grand slam. Quite frankly we are looking at a Tim Henman again here, a boy with a little bit more self-belief but alarmingly work nowhere as hard as Tim! (Cause he's too arrogant)

One good indication why I said he hasn't got the potential to win a slam is that by looking at Andy and Novak Djokovic. Both turned pro at the same time, with Andy has a better junior records/career, but now Djokovic has passed way beyond Andy - who is struggling largely because of his own downfall i.e. sack one of the best coaches around and decided to training alone in such defining period of his career.

Whats the obsession with Wimbleodn. If he wins any GS title it will be a great achievement.
