There are a lot of 'ifs' in snooker and you can talk about them all day, but I’m out.".FROM THE MAN HIMSELF RONNIE O`SULLIVAN!smiley so there you go!!!!biggrin

Once again Willie Thorne and Dennis Taylor jinx a match when it is far from over. Talking about how Ronnie ''never stops amazing people with his genius'' followed by the usual stupid prediction from Willie Thorne announcing that someone has won the frame. The number of times I've watched snooker and these two constantly talk nonsense half way through a frame is unbelievable. Both of them frequently jinx a match before it is over. Stick to John Virgo and Clive Everton.

Jimboo - Totally agree about Thorne; i remember one frame a while ago (can't remember who was playing) & Thorne said "This is frame ball, he only needs another 30 or 40 points after this and that's a formality" doh !

Coming from someone who missed that "formailty" Blue, that's a bit rich.

I'd hate to have Thorne as a coach.

Well played Maguire- although I'm pretty disappointed that Ronnie is out so early- cue the reduction in television audiences viewing the snooker.
What really irritates me is that Ronnie and Maguire had to meet in the first round even though they are provisional 1 and 2, and are the last two tournament winners on the circuit- plus my favourite 2 players. Only hope that Maguire or Hendry win now- although, let's face facts, the latter is very unlikely.

Strange that these two should have to meet in the first round - what is the basis for that ? is it drawn ? or is it on a whim ? This should be the final not the first round. Now I hope that Docherty will win.

The reason they met in the first round is that the top 8 play the bottom 8, and Maguire is world no. 10.

Another reason for Rolling Rankings...

Stevie had better luck though Ronnie didn't play very well. While Ronnie can't capitalise on misses by Stevie, the majority of Stevie's misses ended up being good safety shots! There was not much clear chances for Ronnie. The few that Ronnie had, weren't good enough in the end.
