The Prince of Wales has won the final 7-5, beatin Simon Whitlock in the Final.

For me, he was the best player through the tournament, most consistent, and fully deserved the win.

And another world champion for Wales, following in the footsteps of Joe Calzaghe

Well done Webby !

Very Well Done Mark, another Welsh Champion, all we want now is for Mark Williams to get back to winning form, and then the 6 Nations ?

A nervy affair - the Final of the World Darts always is. Fair play to both players for holding their bottle and giving us punters a good contest.

What a final. The standard was miles better than the PDC final a couple of weeks ago, two top players going at one another with stupidly high 3 and 9 dart averages!! Sadly I do think "Webby" will move to the PDC. What more has he got to acheive in the BDO organization?? He will certainly make alot more money in the PDC but cant help think he'll get confused with James Wade..... seriously talk about seperated at birth!!!

Great Final and Mark Webster has to be my new fav now!

I think if Webster stays in the BDO he will loads of World Championship 7 or 8. This meaning that he will totally dominate the likes of Adams & Hankey Spankey!

Excellent final, played by two very good players, refreshing from last years error fest between adams and nixon. Sadly for the bdo its virtually guaranteed that webster will join the pdc, so you'll probably get idiots like ted hankey and Wolfie reaching the final next year. whitlock will probably stay with the bdo as he's getting on, and for travelling reasons. Wonder if the Viking will be back next year?

I thought the standard of the final was excellent, but Tony Green!!** Why does he keep pretending that the PDC doesn't exist (ok I know why but it's stupid)? Sid on speed is bad enough, but this guy seems only to be wanting to guarantee his contract for next year...........

Awesome, what an athlete. The hours of lonely physical training he had done in preparation for the title challenge have paid off.His counting was a real treat. What a set of darts too.

I thought it was a quality final to be honest, better than the PDC one. Whitlock played very good darts, around 94 average, lots of 180’s and good finisher & Webster had to play well to beat him. He blew a bit hot and cold, but when he was on, he was very good.

Some good darts in the latter stages, Thornton-Adams, Webster-Fitton, Webster-Adams were all high quality games. The problem in the BDO is highlighted by Whitlock’s route to the final. Well as he played, he was only really given a game against Woods in the semis, and then it was only a minor scare as he was 5-1 up. He strolled through the first 3 rounds.

Admittedly in the BDO QF’s Hankey self-destructed, but when you look at the PDC, even Shepherd had to beat Terry Jenkins, Peter Manley, Wayne Mardle to get to the final. Painter had Mason, Barneveld, Lewis before he even made the semis. Mardle had battles against Scholtern and Taylor before bowing out. The depth of quality players is frightening. Before Lewis went out, he beat Van De Voort and Eccles in the 2nd & 3rd round, with both of them averaging around 97.

With Taylor looking like he’s on the decline, the quality at the top is pretty comparable, the quality from players 9-24 is much stronger in the PDC.
