Please sign the petition as a sign that we don't want Terry Venables as irish soccer manager.

please go to the site to see the letter of dismay that I sent to the FAI last night as the news broke

no i just said that he maybe would not ake the job because he was the former rangers boss. i was just repeating what Graeme Souness said.
Plus Walter smith is doing well at rangers and wont leave. I dont care what his beliefs are once he is good. sorry if i came across that way

We'll be lucky to get a third hand manager at the rate the FAI are going at.
manuirishgirl. No need to apologise, just the whole Rangers/Celtic thing annoys me. ok

I can't say that I'd be happy with Venibles but what about Ottmar Hitzfeld, he due to retire from Bayern this summer, he might fancy an international job with a big challange

For Hitzfeld I reckon the lads said to themselves naw he wouldn't and for almost anyone decent, I reckon the said naw he wouldn't and then a few lads in the frame said naw I wouldn't and now we are left with opportunists, dogdgy dealers and 3 rate blokes with no experience, I bet we will be beggin Stan to come back before it's all over.

well again he would be better than venables or stan, and I have to mention Johnny Giles because he is second favourite on Paddypower.ie at the moment.

John Giles is an old fashioned stubborn guy whod just send the team out n say "start kicking them till you win"

If you ever heard him on off the ball he says ridiculous stuff like "tactics arent importnant " and just send the team out and let them do a job.

Now id prefer Liam Brady but after all i just said id prefer John Giles than terry Venebales!anyone but him tbh.

Oh my good jaysus ! Have ye all gone mad ? Venables either won't stay or will fail or do something outrageous and annoy the fans and players,Houllier is ready to have a heart atack, as for Giles or Brady ,Giles is senile and Brady although being very successful with arsenals youth is too pig headed , literally ! smiley

Martin jol and the ever faithful servant to the Irish cause Chris Hughton for the job, Chris has done a fantastic job at Tottenham for years now (I'm not a spuds fan btw) and Jol is a strong charcter the like of which a young Irish team need, great man management skills, great media savvy, european football for a club with limited resources by comparison to the "big four". Forget about Billy Davies , he would have jumped at the scotland job over the Ireland job had it been offered, Souness bowed out in spectacular fashion too when he got wind of the scot job. If not Jol then get Allardyce , the man has expressed an interest, has irish connections etc but Chris Hughton without a doubt should be brought in as coach ! Get it together people !!!!! 2 of the best managers around who have been treated extremely unfairly by their clubs are ripe for the picking ! with what the FAI are offering and the way things are run by that lot, we'd be doing very well to get either of these guys, be realistic

Liam Brady is a cert for the job - they want someone that will be cheap, has little or no experience and that they can use as a scapegoat as soon as things go wrong.

I think the reason Martin Jol hasn't been mentioned is because I don't think he'd want the job. Yes he would be a great candidate but so so would Mourinho, we have to be realistic

Out of all the managers linked, Gerard Houllier is the ONLY one that has a chance of success. The others will fail us miserably, especially Venables. We dont want Terry but since when does the FAI listen to the fans?
