If Rangers win nxt 2

comment on the article

against Grenta & Caley we would be at least 4pts clear going into the OF match.

Would this be the first time in a few years that Celtic would be the team under pressure? If we win (which I think we will) we would be 7 pts clear & Sellick nxt 3 games would be all away to Falkirk, Motherwell & Aberdeen.

discuss!

I hate to burst your bubble karlgbrown but you can hardly say he played in la liga because if the stories are correct he played in 3 games in 18 months and that hardly constitutes having a pedigree of playing in la liga.

Do the math 1 point ahead 1 game in hand against the weakest team in the league not bad for the old tat ,cheap and cheerful players.

The pressure would be all yours, my current bun.

What with the British media already crowning you, and your supporters cocky-ness.

Celtic will win to make it 3 in a row. You can write it down. ok

You can't even beat Lyon at home or get out of the CL group stage so what chance have you boys got?

Not much, we're playing Barcelona FFS, nobody expects us to win over two legs. The difference is, we've got the opportunity to play that game, you've been reduced to playing average sides like Panathanaikos, and even if you beat them, Werder Bremen will have a field day against you, so at least we'll be able to say it was the Champion's League Last 16 we got put out of, not the Uefa Cup's.

Karlgbrown, hilarious comment about hinkel proving himself in la liga he spent his time in the reserves. He did not make a appearance even as a sub in champs league group stages for sevilla.

also the german league is hardly seria A La Liga or the premiership. Time will tell how good he is but I would hardly start shouting from the rooftops yet

Hinkel didn't just play in the Bundesliga; he won it. He was a stalwart of that team for 3 seasons, competing for the title in each of them.
He played for Germany as first choice RB, including the WC where he helped them to the semis.

He moved to Sevilla, predominantly to replace Daniel Alves (the real heir to Cafu's crown); being relegated to the bench when his move to Chelsea broke down.

Hinkel is no unproven or journeyman pro; he's top athlete tested at the highest level and found himself in the unfortunate position of being in competition with one of the world's top 5 players of the last 2 years for a starting berth.

Add the question "Who would you rather have Alan Hutton or Andreas Hinkel?" to the paperwork for this years Ballon D'or and I think you'll find Hinkel a clear winner - even on the Spurs entry because they ask the coaches, not the "Sporting Director's" winkeye

You can make your comments on the past to that I give you your point but this is now and I think it will take many weeks to determine if he is still the player he was or if mentally he has lost that edge off his game.
I think I will reserve judgement on the player until he has settled. As for Hutton he has proven he has the ability on various stages and the only question anyone who knows football can have is can he sustain it?

Well, can he?

All I know is that Hinkel DID.

For 3 years, not 6 months.

I rate Hutton and believe he is due most of the credit for his improvement, not Walter or Ally.
His pace has come from the same place McGeady's acceleration has - the gym. All that weight work improves the upper body strength and the thigh muscles giving you a lot more power in your running.
His crossing is still hit and miss, but the areas he's trying to get the ball into are the right ones at least, the percentages improve with consistency and practice.

But the only reason he is getting headlines is because of unfounded rumours about Old Trafford and a sudden attempt to buy him by Damien Commolli - not Juande Ramos, who signed Hinkel and would probably rather have had him IF he had any say in personnel at Spurs - at a crazily insane price, grossly inflated by the Premiership's economic meltdown; not talent and potential per se.

But as I said jake when did he put in his three years it wasnt recently. i am sure if Ramos wanted him Ramos would have got him because of pedigree so you question what desire did Ramos have I guess it would be zero. In Spain it is the Presidents and sporting directors who do the buying.

we will soon see how good hinkel is one point you are wrong on he did not appear at the world cup or in the squad freidrich and jansen were the right backs at the world cup for germany.

Hutton has proved himself in europe and international level no one can argue he hasn't I don't see him having a problem sustaining it. Ramos did not do the buying at sevilla it was the director of football and given he didnt play him and could accomidate by pushing alves into midfield it would suggest he wasn't a huge fan of Hinkel no doubt a good player but not top drawer
