I for one am glad to see the back of him

Premier League Newcastle United
comment on the article

Performances under Allardyce were the worst in living memory for Newcastle.

His arrogance and stubbornness, and refusal to adapt his tactics were hampering the team.

Although what he did for the physio table is commendable.

Hopefully Ashley and Mort will bring someone with European experience in, and give them a couple of seasons to build a team.

Van Gaal, Bilic, Hiddink please. Even Houllier would be good to steady the ship and build up from the roots.

Shearer in ONLY as an assistant or striker coach.

And please, please God - don't let them appoint McClaren.

Mark Hughes or Alan Shearer seem to be the favourites to replace Big Sam.

My money's on Shearer. He's a legend up there and a big favourite of the fans. Besides, I can't see Hughes leaving. If he re-builds Blackburn, he could be inb line for a top job domestically when Fergie and Wenger retire in a few years.

Going to newcastle could put his carrer in self-destruct. It's a tough job.

By the way, I think newcastle and England have a lot in common. They both have quality, but are normally unable to cut it against the truly big sides and will not be one for sometime, both get unsatisfied easily, and both have die-hard passionate supporters.

personally i wasn't booing sir bobby, i thought sacking him was a huge mistake. i was booing the board overriding him in the transfer market (kluivert anyone?) and of course Kieron dyer not doing what his was told to do.

myself and those fans i know did not want bobby to go, but the squad and the board did, and our current situation is karma for that.

Doesnt this thread make interesting reading now that NUFC have been relegated. Allardyce being fired whilst in 11th spot, you'd bite his hand off for 11th spot now!

Don't know why you bothered bringing this thread back up, but you've conveniently forgotten that a lot of this relegated squad are here because of Allardyce - he's the idiot who signed Joey Barton, for example.

yeah, but even with the squad he brought in, he was in 11th.

It's because the toon thought they should be challenging for the title under Allardyce. 11th and a steady ship clearly wasn't good enough.

Allardyce would have taken you into the top 8 easily.

"Fergie also said a number of times He could not understand why Sir Bobby was sacked."

He wasn't sacked because of results (they were very good), nor was he sacked because of that stupid excuse that he'd 'lost the dressing room'.

He was sacked because of his age and because it was impossible for the club to plan several years into the future because of it. That was totally obvious the moment he was appointed as manager, and Brian Clough at the time pointed it out. It was a case of exactly the right man at the wrong time.
