Ronaldo may be touted by some as the best player in the world right now, but NOBODY is more important for Man United than Wayne Rooney. Look at the last three games for examples of that.

Lost to West Ham
Poor against Brum
Dire today until Rooney won it!

United have lost FOUR times this season, Rooney didn't play in any of those four......Nuff said!

The pivotal moment in this game was not Rooney coming on, but Hargreaves. Although Hargreaves himself had an average game, it meant the pathetic Saha was off the pitch. Every time Saha was passed the ball he either lost it, passed to a Villa player, or most often, just fell over.

He is not 'out of form', as many commentators say, he simply is not good enough.

United's attacks were so innefective until he was subbed simply because when the football came to him the attack was over. When he came off, there was no longer a weak link in the attack and the ball flowed between Rooney/Ronaldo/Giggs more freely as they knew there wasnt a man wearing a United shirt that would give it away every time. Result - 2 mins after he went off the net bulged, 8 mins later it bulged again.

He needs offloading in the Jan window and a new forward brought in. Dosnt have to be a superstar, just someone to give a different option on the bench, an option better than Saha

Who is the moron that started this idiotic topic or Rooney being better than Ronaldo???

Between your neck and your head, which one is more important???

Rooney and Ronaldo are important to Manchester United and complementary; without either, neither is complete.

We shouldn't be arguing this idiocy.

what about all the games where rooney has done bugger all and there have been many.even when ronaldo is having a quiet game or being well marked he is still taking the attentions of 2-3 defenders.

MANUTD have an amaizing team , every one is important, althought, there r key players, like Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs, Tevez, and I can even say Anderson as well. But Ronaldo is really the best of them. EVen if he is not palying good we can always hoppe any thing of him, like his goal against Aston Vila, even withouth paying good.

Ronaldo, is the best Premier Ligue PLAYER He is not Striker, but he scores more than all the striker in PL now.
He is an important key for MANUTD may be the key, but othrs like Rooney Giggs, Tevez, even Evra, r important too. to make MANUTD bigger.

"It was without doubt one of the worst FA Cup matches I have had the displeasure to watch.Until the last nine minutes United were very very average Villa were totally PATHETIC and am I the only footy fan to think Martin Oniel is grossly overated? Playing for a draw at home in a Cup game? what kind of ambition is that? However in fairness to Villa United once again enjoyed the same old protection from another PL official eating out of SAFs hand. As a Man City fan I can actually take comfort from what I saw today and that is VILLA wont be a threat to my teams hopes of finishing at least in the top six, sorry but VILLA were abysmal and United weren't much better - ARSENAL for the TITLE!"

Last time we met it ended up 1-1. The game before Aston Villa you lost to Tottenham. Aston Villa met Chelsea with a 2-0 and 4-4, you met them with a *cough* 6-0 loss.
I hear Sven's going shopping again? At least O'Neil can make a good team out of what he's got and not need to spend millions of pounds on foreigners. And I don't see a City player in the top 10 scorers.

*cough* 6-0 loss at Chelsea. Villa got 4-4 (before that was 2-0).

Rooney and Ronaldo are both class, and the link up play between the two of them is second to none!

Saha to go. Not only is he useless, he has lost his pace, his presence and his motivation.
