Although i am as dissapointed as everyone else about the way things are going at the moment i cant believe some fans want to sack Big Sam already. he came into a club that was in a mess so after only 6 months did you really think he'd be able to turn us into a top 6 side??? his a very good manager who knows what his doing but its going to take time. Look how bad Villa was last season and you didn't hear any of there fans calling for O'Neil's head and now look at them!! i agree his signings haven't been great either but they was panic buys because Ashley left it to late into the summer before who gave him some cash and he had to make them signings because without them we would be in even more trouble then we are now and we would all be saying 'i cant believe he didn't sign anyone, Sack him now'.So give him a year to get his hands on the team and he'll make us a top 6 side im sure. he aint just trying to change the first team his changing the whole structure of our club and im sorry to say but thats gonna take a little longer then 6 months.

@cheekylilgooner

I can think of a few:

Clough at Forest
Redknapp at Pompey
O'Neill at Villa
Curbishley at Charlton

and, dare I say it,

Big Sam at Bolton!!

Big Sam should stay. He believed that Newcastle have the prospect of being a better club than Bolton. So he (or at least last summer) he thought that he had a better chance of reaching the top four at Newcastle than at his former club.

We can see how good he is if you look at Bolton with him and Bolton since he left, both have similar squads - and there is a huge difference in status.

Big Sam was also favourite for the England job before Brain Barwick went to get Scolari; and Newcastle fans want to replaced that with a pundit with no expierence (Shearer).

Alladyce still hasn't assembled his squad which he will have by this time next year when he make a serious challenge for Europe.

At the moment it's either the players play the way they want to play or the manager gets to play his successful tactics - you can't have both or not until next year you can't anyway.

Top six side? Allardyce did that with Bolton. To be successful at Newcastle, he must make us a top four side, year in, year out. Keegan did it, Robson did it.
I'd be happy to wait through a couple of years of mediocrity whilst he gets rid of the chaffe. Especially Barton!

Agreed, allerdyce wouldn't be my personal choice, but he will do well and you geordies just need to show some patience for a change. He isn't going to transform you in to a top 6 side overnight. It took him a few years to sort Bolton out until he got everything moving in the right direction.

I know your fans are desperate for success, but after waiting so long two more years isn't going to matter. Given time and some support that doesn't boo him after every game he will bring you a trophy.

littledannywallace, How could Brian Clough be out of his depth at Leeds. You are having a laugh. Sam along with Harry Rednapp are the best managers in the Premier. Unlike all the foreign managers that have been appointed at great/successful clubs with loads of dosh they have made their clubs successful and great and will continue to do so. S.A has brilliant insight so dont be daft and get behind him. Dont even think of putting a time limit on it. Managers dont come better than Sam

Newcastle will never be a big club whilst they are too trigger happy with their managers. Newcastle won't get relegated, and unless you give him the time to build a squad to be successful then you won't get anywhere.

Newcastle fans are some of the most fickle I've ever heard of, only Wolves fans have shorter fuses!

I am happy for Big Sam to stay as Newcastle manager as I am a Chelsea fan and am quite happy seeing Newcastle fail under him. Shame its not Liverpool though

howard kendall at everton, capello at real - both times. sam has a pile of pants players to sort out and undoubtably bought some poor ones (barton and that dreadful brazillian centre half?) but what else do you do? who else is there? there's not one newcastle player who would get a game at man u, arsenal, chelsea or liverpool with the exception of shay given and a fit michael owen maybe

Give Sam more time. For ages now the Newcastle fans have been creating negativity around their team and for no real reason. As much as footballers get paid, it is commonsense that they start to lose respect for their club if they are booed and slated all the time for not doing that bad. You even criticise Michael Owen- He's injured! And if he leaves the club for half of what you paid you've got yourselves to blame.

Actually it would probably be best if you sacked Big Sam if only so we don't have to hear the hypocrisy when he turns things around.
