I don't know what Liverpool expect. None of the other top four would buy avergae joe's like Benayoun, Voronin, Kuyt, Aurelio and Babel. Average team, Average perfromances... its as simple as that.

Amazing, when were these ever in the title race? Everton are more of a team than this bunch. At last people are beginning to realise how fortunate this lot have been in cup games. Won't win the league for a number of years as long as they ramble on about over rated Gerrard and co. Keep it up, you are making the start of my new year!!

Honestly guys, by any realistic assessment, Liverpool are out of the title race now. You were doing great guns to start with, but Rafa effectively rotated you out of the running about 2 months ago. The results you have been getting for the past month are in no way Premiership winning form. Games in hand are all well and good, but do you serious think these points are a given?

Probably best to stick to Europe and securing a CL slot for next season, as there is now some serious competition for that!

I am not a Liverpool fan (or even a Premiership fan come to that), but what strikes me is the same mantra trotted out by Benitez (along with other Managers) after a game doesn't go their way ... we were unlucky, we deserved to win but didn't take our chances, etc.

Once or twice a season that is probably true, but when the same 'excuses' come up week in, week out clearly there is more to it than that ... and, as fans, you can only hope that the Manager is a little more honest and realistic when he actually talks to the players.

Billyblog the only people who think Everton are better than Liverpool are Everton fans and if they were honest only half of them at that.

If we apply Everton logic to Liverpool then we are the best team in the league. Despite not finishing, beating or finishing above them we are the better team, because........ just because.

You know looking at life like a Toffee does, I can feel a great injustice for my Liverpool team, why do people belive just because man u are the champions and beat us this year that they are a better team. It's not fair BOO HOO.

small club, small mind & a small chance of finishing above Liverpool this season.

At the end of the season Liverpool will be known as the "also rans" Everton will have their second best finish in 20 years but still finish below Liverpool.

Your the second team in Liverpool until you move. Get used to it.
