PJ has confirmed we will be signing 25 Yr old Argentine Striker Emmanuel Villa this week.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emanue...

here is some information about him.

He has played in the mexican leagues so is unproven at this level, but time will tell.......

Not a poke at Derby, all clubs do it, but surely there is an Englishman who can do the same job.

First player to mind, DAVID VILLA, but that would be comical!

Should have snapped up some unused experienced prem player from various clubs that aren't really wanted there anymore. You name them, plenty.

However, I don't know Derby's budget, so i don't know if it's possible

derby are going down - why spend 10's of milions on a player who alone cannot save them.. 2 million seems reasonable in today's over priced climate...

I had to give that headline a second look too, seems alot of others here made the same mistake.

Imagine that, Derby getting David Vila for £2. Singing of the century!!

Agree with mercredia: I think Derby are in damage limitation, making sure they have the best possible chance off coming back to the premier after almost an innevitable relegation. Best of luck to them though!!

All for one and all for Spurs

Good morning from Brownsville Texas and the best of luck for DERBY but this argentine player Villa was an average striker in the mexican league , a league of no comparison with the Prenier maybe the level of the game is like a first division club in England. I am sure there is some young british player waiting for a chance to play in the Premier why another unproven foreigner. Have a pint of bitter on me Adios. cl_l

Welcome fella
As said before average players in England (Nugent?) cost 5-6 million and demand higher wages, this guy will not cost a lot in wages and has 6 months to prove himself at the highest level in Europe.
If he's rubbish we've not lost a great deal.
If he turns out to be a Tevez we make 10 million when the inevitable happens and he leaves to sit in the reserves at Manure.

The big problem is, how can you buy a Derby shirt with Villa on the back?

Thanx for the beer BTW ale

Paul Jewell is an idiot signing Savage, Villa and Robert. With exception to Villa as I know nothing about him, the other two are just trying to bank a bit of cash in their twilight years. Savage was superb in a blues shirt and I was gutted when he left but let me tell you he has not one once of loyalty and the first sign of trouble or rotation in system or squad and he will be off. I daren't even think about how much Robert is earning now.

Lets face it the rams are going down and are still going to have massive wage bills to pay with the likes of Savage and Robert - the bloke has lost the plot

If Savage was just out for cash, surely he would juust sit on Blackburn's bench?

He clearly just wants to play every week, even committing himself to a club certain to go down, because he doesn't want to sit on the bench doing nothing.

That is the total opposite of a player just out to get money, isn't it?
