Are we too small for Bosingwa?

According to the BBC Round-up of what the press is saying:

"Manchester United are lining up a £10m bid for Porto defender Jose Bosingwa, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson viewing him as the long-term successor to Gary Neville at right-back. (Daily Mail)"

Does this mean we get Wes Brown?

I think I'd rather have Errol Brown!

Is this an attempt to "up the ante", or playing mind games before Saturday's Cup tie?

Hmmmm. Boswinga to Manure, probably. Oh well, we'll take Miguel then. He's the one keeping Boswinga out of the Portugal sqaud anyway. Such is life.

We are also being linked with Jose Angel Crespo, who plays right-back for Sevilla, he is only 20 years old and is highly rated by his club. There is plenty of tabloid speculation over here, and it is also widely covered by the press over there. The lad can also play at left-back, so would provide cover for Bouma as well.

I still think that we are shooting too small. Why not put in a bid for Berbatov? As for Defoe, it would be a step up from Tottenham so there should be no hesitancy! With Mellberg leaving we need to land a quality defender soon so i think that Wes Brown is a prefect replacment. Brown was always tripe for England but showed elements of quality for Manure, or why not put a bid in for Nicky Shorey, he's not secure at Reading. The worst thing O'Neill could do is not buy anyone in January. We still have one of the smallest squads in the premiership and we've kind'a been lucky with injuries (apart form Carew) but if we lose a few key players we're stuffed. Come on Learner, splash some that abundant cash you have!!

Whoever we may or may not sign as a right back still very short on cover especially if Melberg goes!
Need the type of striker that can 'pull the trigger', a foil for the hardworking Carew. Luke Moore has ability but just aint doing it at the moment.

we never were gonna get bosingwa, remember he said he wasn't interested a while back? miguel would appear to be much more likely, though i like the sound of that crespo lad in sevilla.

Wes Brown got into the england team because he has 10 good players around him. The boy is cack and would undoubtedly have an swollen ego after so many medals.....don't sign him.
MON likes to sign players with something to prove.
I think Alan Hutton is the best candidate. Whether we can get him is another matter.....
