Keep Berbatov,Keane and Defoe[Who seems to score evrytime hes subbed on]

Concentrate on our Defence as our strike forse isnt a problem??

RooNaldo, go miss a penalty or something. The only thing stupid around here is the fact you bought Hargreaves for 18 mil. And, we don't have a clue? Well then why are you trying to buy Berbatov for more than we bought him? Loser

I watched about 70 minutes of Bent "proving himself" whilst in the cow shed (Portsmouth away stand)and he proved the following:

1. He got into great positions but then took the wrong option (blasts instead of placing or vice versa).

2. He is a big guy to knock off the ball or for a defender to get around, yet he gave possession away very softly.

3. He is athletic/quick but he never once chased down a ball that was overhit etc.

4. His reactions were slow when a ball in the area was failed to be cleared - on 3 occasions there was a loose ball and he stood looking at it without making a challenge for the ball.

He was never worth 16 million - but thats not his fault and certainly the heavy price is weighing on him to be better than everyone else, which he clearly isn't...although he is Premiership quality otherwise he would not have netted so often for Charlton.

The best option for Spurs (with Berba being a wantaway unless we collect the UEFA, FA, Carling cups AND get upto 5th place this season) is to get Bent his confidence back - send him out on loan for a month to Sheffield Utd as cover for the injured James Beattie...he will score goals at that level and with the quality of crosses they can put in should return to Spurs a reborn player.

As for the spat earlier on this message board about pricing of different players - remember the bung enquiry which revealed a load of added extras that were paid in so called cut price deals - don't believe the newspapers about the prices paid and the wage figures until the club's balance sheet is produced in the next tax year!

Sell for 8-16M. Invest in a PLAYMAKER and one solid defender. Tie defoe down. Maybe get a goalkeeper. Try and keep Berbatov although I think they should try to sell him or do a trade. I'd like to see Crouch playing at Tottenham so a 10-15M+Crouch trade would be reasonable for both teams. Crouch is a 20+goal a season striker if hes in the first team all the time. He is paitent, can hold up the ball and has generally neat scoring instinct... give HUDDLESTONE way more match experience too. The guy is the kind of player spurs need. A ball winner who is also creative.

Thats what Tottenham have to do to reach reasonable heights.

aoaaron, Crouch? Must be kidding mate, he is useless. And Huddlestone I think is also not good enough for our first team (I know he scored two crackers vs. Fulham) as I think Jenas (who's improved so much under ramos), Zokora, Boateng and O'Hara are all better.

And let's not forget that when Bent plays, his pace stretches defences that free up a lot of space in the midfield for the likes of Berbatov and Malbranque to work in... as I said earlier, anyone who scores 33 goals in two prem seasons does not JUST lose it. Besides, we've paid already, there's no harm in having quality backup. If we sell now we'll get a crap price, let him improve and raise the price tag.

Cpt-Fantastical, I can only assume your comments about Boateng being better than Huddlestone were made before the game against Villa. On that performance, Boateng is surely the worst player in the league.

Bent has got to go - He is useless, lazy, slow, and has not shown one ounce of wanting to payback his dues to Spurs! Defoe is a better option - we will be lucky to make half of what Comoli paid for Bent - thats right - Jol has said that Comoli did the spending last summer on all the useless players that no one has heard of and not him!

Darren Bent should be given his chance, I think we can assume Berbatov will be going if not this window then the summer, it makes no sense to lose money on Bent when we will end up buying a replacement for Berb anyway so he should stay and be given the chance to pay back our clubs investment.

We would definitly not get our money back so we should stick with him and give him more opportunities.
