Although I would love to see Painter beat Part I think the why he is playing John will be too strong for Kevin and will win the championship now that Taylor is out.

I would like to see Painter win it.

I go with 'Darth Maple' also. He is one of the few big characters in the game and his career deserves a third world title.

'Darth Maple' to exterminate 'The Artist'!

same I agree with Ntini77.

Painter vs Mardle final.

But I thought Mardle would have gone out round 1 or 2 so that is a real shock.

I hope Part wins, a great player and a gentleman on stage.
I dont like the on stage antics or Mardle or Painter. Mardle acts and talks like he is a great player, reality is he took advantage of an out of form Taylor while Painter takes an age to get off the oche and slows down opponents.

My money would be on Part to win it. But after that Kirk did to Wayne last night, I wouldn't take it for granted. I can see two possible scenarios: Part plays poorly, Kirk plays well and wins 7-5 or 7-6, or Part plays his best darts and wins by a country mile, 7-2. I think that Kirk could do a Keith Deller, but he is inconsistent, and as John is the better player, he should win it. Put it this way, John won't underestimate him like Wayne maybe did.

As I said in my last post, Kirk could possibly win it - but you have to go with John - he is much more consistent, he has the experience and he has the temperament. If Kirk is to win it, he must stay ahead or with John. I think that if John goes say, 3-0 in front, he won't come back from that. Last night, I saw the match and Kirk threw in a few loose darts. For him to win, he simply can't afford any bad throws. I will have to go with a Part win. I think John will win 7-5.

I'm afraid the final was a disappointment. Kirk has done wonderfully well to make the final, but it was a main versus a boy. I know Kirk had flu, but his body language told us everything. Even the crowd booing didn't put Part off, and he showed excellent composure and professionalism. I do think he could have been a little more magnanimous to Kirk in his post-match interview - the game needs new blood and Kirk proved that you can come from nowhere to challenge the best.

Really pleased John Part won the title, didn`t see any of the matches as don`t have the channel that was showing the tournament.
Would really like to see John play again at the Lakeside world`s, seems odd hearing him commentate there but not play. Still a true gent of the game.

Nice to see John Part win a deserved 3rd world title. Great player, a real gentleman and one of the most intelligent players in the game.
