Sam Out!!

Premier League Newcastle United

Allardyce must go. How people can argue that he should be given time is beyond me. You do not hear Eriksson, Ramos or Redknapp beating on about things taking years - fact is that they are succeeding where as Sam is doing awfully. Our team are inept and worse than they ever were under Roeder and even dare I say it, Souness. Time for a change and soon. Fans pay damn good money to watch the tripe served up at the moment and it cannot and should not be tolerated. No-one likes to see people sacked but football is a game based on results and sadly, Sam falls short here. Form would suggest that we are relegation fodder and it is not good enough.Ashley and Mort need to sort this mess out before it is too late.

I agree with most people here on many aspects with the current situation with Newcastle. They are playing shocking, the players seem lost, the manager is playing them out of position, the board has not backed Big Sam with money........but, the fact remains, he needs time! The transfer window is open soon so hopefully you will pick some players up. Also, you need to offload some crap to try and invest in decent flair players and people who want to wear your beloved team shirt.

The only thing you gotta do is be patient. He is an experienced manager who needs time to turn things around. Wont go down because you are a half decent team. I do pity you though because i like your club, supporters etc. Why oh why do you need players like Barton giving your club a bad name and bad publicity. He is a decent player and a huge loss for your next 2 games as he sits inside a prison cell. In saying that....bet everyone a tenner you get a result against Chelsea. Draw or win....you will get one of them!!!!

I think some managers are good at coming in and spicing up the existing set-up while others need to set up their own system and be in control of it. I would put Fergie in the latter camp and also big Sam. This approach can result in a lot of pain with mistakes being made and a lot of boring football. However, if done correctly it will turn a club around on every level, rather than just papering over the cracks which is all Newcastle have been doing since Keegan went. Thats why Fergie took so long at Man United, things were rotten to the core when he arrived, with the coaching staff, the training, drinking, the scouting, the attitude of the players, etc. I think its the same at Newcastle.

I'm not saying Big Sam is anything like as good as fergie but if newcastle want to move on from the mediocre shambles of the last few years they need to put up with a bit of pain (and at times bewilderment) while things are turned around, whoever the manager is.

Or you can get in a short term fixer and get a bit of a boost, maybe have a pop at the top six, then gradually slip down the table again...

I cannot believe that some people are criticising newcastle fans for wanting big sam out. most of you outsiders are probably just thinking newcastle have a new manager and the fans arent happy because he hasnt turned things around yet. YOU ARE NOT SEEING WHAT WE ARE SEEING EVERY WEEK! the man is destroying our football club and we have every right to speak up about it. This is the worst newcastle team i have seen since 1989. Why should we give sam 3 years? what will change then? why does it take sam years to figure out what 50,000 people can see now? the man is a clown, the worst manager in our history. There is no doubt in my mind that if he is given another 2 seasons he will take us down. This supposed 'best start to the season since Keegan' is a joke. we were appalling in every game. apart from liverpool and arsenal we have played nobody yet. LEAVE NOW SAM, YOU ARE NOT UP TO THE JOB.

What good would it do to sack Allardyce right now and who the hell would want to manage us anyway?

Someone mentioned Rednakpp succeding straight away, well this is not true as at Pompey it took him a couple of years to get them in the prem and in his spell it took him a year to succeed!

So basically what I'm saying is to give Allardyce time.

Also would high mid-table be all that bad, afterall it would be an improvement on last season!

Newcastle are boring...they play boring football and buy any player who was something.

You guys need fresh new blood and I mean in all departments apart Martins.

Quite frankly, this season has been truly awful, but if Sam goes, who comes in? We have been here before. I think the quality of players we have is poor, the defence is as bad as it ever was,our midfield is not very creative. Micheal Owen is invisable, we seem to be getting him fit for England duty only, NUFC seems to be of secondary importance to him. I have been supporting for 40 years, apart from the Keegan years, we have been mediocre ! Patience? I have been patient for a long, long time. This season is already a write off for me.
====================

Surely this is the point. Newcastle are not a top club. End of story. No matter what your chairman would want you believe (1 of top 4 clubs in world...!!).

At the end of the day the sort of players that are attracted to NUFC are after the money only. Money paid for by NUFC supporters who appear to have been brainwashed into giving their hard earned cash to watch an average football team in the expectation that they will win the League every season. Get real!

The last time NUFC won anything was over 50 years ago. Christ! I'm an Everton fan and I get tired of some Evertonians harking on about the good old days, which were only 20 years ago. We've finally given a fantastic manager the time and support (not purely financial) to create a half decent team. This has taken 5 years and we were almost relegated one season. Imagine Moyes had been sacked then. Where would Everton be now? It takes 5 years to turn a team around and I am hoping another 5 (if ever) to turn them into a team which COULD win the premiership. It doesn't happen in 2 years.

Why on earth would anyone who knows how to create a winning side want to manage NUFC when they know that after half a season in the job supporters will be wanting their head. Sam's done OK. He does need more time and if he does not get it that'll be a warning to other managers.

I think for the money spent, Newcastle look to be a rabble. That match against Derby was nowhere near Prem League standard, and more suitably described as a League 2 scrap. As a neutral I always enjoyed watching Newcastle, as they played with real attacking menace, and flair, although always seemed vulnerable at the back. This campaign I have watched them a few times, and they look completely impotent, at both ends of the park. Their midfield is even worse!

robin - "sam's done ok"

mate, he hasn't done ok. and also, we haven't been brainwashed into parting with our cash thinking we are going to win the league every season. its called supporting your team. We have not been brainwashed any more than you everton fans or anybody else. we are not fools, we just want to see some a half decent football team.

Supporting your team is fine, but to think that NUFC are somehow the equivalent of Man U, Aresnal or Chelsea is stupid and that is certainly the view of your board. Until you guys have some stability in the management of your team you will not go anywhere. You have to be a little realistic.

The football Everton played in the first 2 or 3 seasons under DM was not exactly attractive, but it was a stepping stone to where we are now (which is still miles behind the top 4 in my opinion). NUFC fans need to think more long term. Unless you have an Abromovich equivalent funding your team you can't buy the premiership in one season.

How fickle you poor Geordies are.

When will you realise - you're not one of the country's top teams any more!!

Allardyce will get you back in the right direction, so just get off his back.

He's proven that he can bring a struggling club (Bolton) very close to glory, and even Newcastle are a bigger club than Bolton, so, given time, I'm sure he will do that with you too.

What will sacking him achieve?
All it will do is make the Newcastle manager's job even more unattractive, with such a fickle fan base and ludicrously high expectations.

What have you got to lose by keeping him?
Before he came, you were a mid-table club still expecting Champions League football.
Now he's come, you're not doing any worse. If anything, he's steadied the ship slightly, and, given more time, he will take you back up to the top half of the Premier League.

So, fickle Geordies, just get off his back!
