Injury Crisis- our B team line-up?

With the ACON about to start we seem to be in desperate need to sign new players, however it is very likelly that we'll have to make do for the 1st half of January with the bruised squad we got before we make changes. I think this should be out line-up. BTW Cech must be left to recover, meanwhile use Hilario for Newcastle and then use Cech again.

--------Hilario for 1 week then Cech
Beletti-Alex-Fereira-Bridge
SWP-Ballack*/Makalele**/Sidwell/Woods-J.Cole
-------Shevchenko-That new Argentinian youngster or Pizzaro

*= Ballack is still slightly injured, while woods is a confident youngster. Lampards injury means that we only have Sidwell and Makalele who are somewhat proven? Either way we're screwed.
**= Makelele is rumoured to be injured but might return at the start of January.

New Signings:

* A new centre-back that is about Alex's standard, but please not another Haim. Please not Micah Richards though. We should buy players for ability not for their passport.

* A new young goalkeeper around 20-24 years of age. Cudicini is too old, Hilario untrusted, and Cech injury prone. Perhaps we might knip unwanted Isaksson away from Man City. I'm not sure why Sven hates him. Either way we basically need a long-lasting back-up keeper.

* A new striker who has a status e.g. Huntelaar or Ronaldinho (but Ronaldinho must be bought for under 20m otherwise let Barca keep him).

* A cheap, unproven midfield player who can make huge headlines if he works out. e.g. Lulinha (to be honest we do not really have a problem with midfielders, the situation we're in now is just really unfortunate and wouldn't happen 9 seasons out of 10).

"By the way Henk Ten Cate was a great manager at Ajax, adored by the people there. Can someone tell me what he is doing at Chelsea?"

Thats not strictly true. He seemed to split the Ajax fans, half loved him and half hated him. This is what I gathered from Ajax fans on this board when the talk of him joining chelsea started. The opinion seems to be that he is a better first team coach than manager. The backroom staff actually seem to be sorted. Steve Clarke is largely responsible for our organisation and defence which is why we didn't just break down after Mourinho's exit, Cate now is in charge of attacking play with Grant on top. I haven't been amazingly impressed with Grant's ability to influence a match with substitutions in the same way that Jose did but apart from that I think he has been a credit to himself and the club.

Unfortunately I think this is Chelsea's death-blow for the Premiership. They may catch one of the top two when they mess up (one usually does) but not the eventual winners.

"Hilario is the reason why Shevshenko is playing better."

Bit confused about this. Why would Chelsea's 3rd-choice keeper be an influence of Sheva playing better?

For me our four most important outfield players are Drogba, Terry, Lampard, and Essien. When the African CON starts they'll all be out.
That's the equivalent then of Man U losing Tevez, Ronaldo, Rooney and Vidic (their 4 best IMO). We're stuffed.

Well Shevchenko finally looks ready to pull his weight, Alex is a high-quality replacement for Terry, and can score goals. If Anelka plays as well as he can (which he almost certainly won't, but we can hope...) and he and Sheva forge a good partnership, then perhaps we are not as doomed as we once thought. We just need someone to marshal the defence with everyone injured. Hopefully Belletti can start playing properly...

All the talk of Grant not cutting it is ridiculous. He is a good manager, ok so he has that Mr Nice Guy character trait about him but I think you will find that supporters of other teams like him a lot more than the arrogant Mourinho.

tbh i dont really care what the supporters of other teams think about my clubs manager, i just want to have a good manager and Mourinho is one of the best.

I agree completely.Especially in the area of signing a new striker with status.Klaus Jan Huntelaar is a wonderful option. A pacy forward with clinical finishing, not to mention young. I believe the time for a revolution of the squad has come. Younger players should be drafted and given more playing opportunities. Woods, Sinclair, the new Argentinian youngster, Ben Sahar all should get a bigger taste of the action. Why didnt we buy Ryan Babel when he was available?our midfield is alright, but we need more creativity to feed the attack.

The brute trio are out so less diving in the premiership (dogba) , no figthing and bullying (phat lard and John Scary out)

buy anelka and berbatoss together and see how they both wreck your dressing room/team spirit with attitude smiley
