Miko De Beauchene got the better of last year's winner Halcon Genelardais to win Thursday's Welsh National at Chepstow.

It was an emotional victory with the winning horse's trainer Robert Alner currently recovering in hospital after a car accident last month.

How do you rate the performance of Miko De Beauchene?

Halcon Generladais was robbed. To go that close with the weight he had and the weight he was giving away was a truly superb effort. If Christian Williams had made his mind up as to what he wanted to do at the last then the result might have been different. He looked like he wanted "to go long" then he changed his mind and wanted " to get in close",ended up doing neither and "banked" it costing him valuable momentum.Agree with comments on a truly shocking commentary, time for the BBC to get a new caller, even though its only part time hours!

Dearie me, Aussie Jim did have a bit of a 'mare didn't he. Failed to call Over The Creek's progress through the field at all, described Not Left Yet as improving on the inside when he was stone last, didn't spot Murphy falling off and then had the field turning out the backstraight when they were barely halfway down it and I think they jumped the 'last one down the back' about 4 times. Too many cans of amber nectar Jimbo ?. What with you and that expert witness fella' the stock of Aussie racing experts has never been higher <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

Thought Gungadu travelled well then just didn't find much, same as Geeveem.

When it comes to horse racing, the BBC are a joke full stop. On the race, completely agree with Strode, but have to say, despite a top performance, im glad he lost to the winner because of his trainer. Lets all hope Mr.Alner makes a full and complete recovery.

How did L'aventure run???????

Do we think we saw the peak of this horse at a couple of years ago when it was 7, or can it still come back????

By the way the last two days have been my worst ever for betting, can't seem to find a winner any where. Apart from Kauto.

How did Lord Jay Jay run Martyn? Didn't see the race.

The result confirm my comments about handicapping NH horses. The second horse was giving huge amount of weight to the winner, and although I was pleased for the connections of the winner the result more than proved my point that handicapping is an insidious way of punishing courageous horses - I hate the practice.
