Bobo Balde

Scottish Premier Celtic

comment on the article

I think every Celtic supporter would agree that they wanted Balde back playing sooner than this. Has Gordon Srachan bitten the bullet and admitted he was wrong? Or has he done it so that any potential buyers could see him play? Whatever one it was, I hope the big man stays and reclaims his rightful place, and helps us to a win against the Gers.

Balde is average and one decent game doesn't make him the defensive panacea.McManus needs a break and Caldwell or O'Dea deserve a run in their best positions.
Can't understand why Riordan and McGeady can't play on the same team?
I like Hartley and Pressley but they are surely only decent back-up players and Donati looks like all flash and little substance.
Also, where are all the young lads from the youth squad-seems like a lot of these guys are not breaking through like they used to.

Bobo Balde is not a particularly good player, but 'not particularly good' is better than our defence has been since Strachan became manager. How long was it that we hadn't kept a clean sheet away from home? A year?

Bobo is big and strong, but big and strong is not enough.

I'm hoping another offer will come in for him in January, and we can finally get him off the wage bill.

well all i can say is that we were letting in daft goals and yes i know it has only been 2 games but from the big man has been back its been 2 clean sheets dont care what people say so what if in the first game and he handled the ball it was not given so why complain about it thats our problem sometimes we complain when stuff goes against us and when it goes for us the big man is back hail hail

bobo is a top defender he should be playing every game for us the 2 games he has played in we got 2 clean sheats so that says the big man is doing some thing to the team and on saturday he won every ball in the air if he gose in january it well be a big loss for us and it will weaken are back line

Gordon Strachan is a manager who dosent believe in critisising his team. He never says we have a bad performance yet we hadnt kept a clean sheet in over 30 away games. Balde is brought in and we keep two cleans sheets. Strachan should have played him sooner. He has to look at our squad closer. This is the underlying problem of Celtics winter performance. He refuses to drop the big names i.e Venegoor of Hesselink. Hes not performing and he needs Dropped Caldwell not performing needs dropped. Donati not performing needs droped but we cant have sno playing so he needs to be making transfers in January.

hopefully the new defense bhoys, if we get both, can get a good understanding with centrebacks. it could be anyone in there soon, depending on who plays better with the new guy(s)
i think balde is great, he makes u feel good when he owns and goes right thru players and gets the ball. its his blunders that stick in my mind, tho he was very raw when he came.
hail hail

Big Bobo should have been back a long time ago. Ok he's not a Ballot Dancer but he's solid 90% of the time, a wee bit scary in the Champions League but I want him back.

As one comment said "he's not solid but neither is our defence.

Give Caldwell the hee hoh.
