Or at least according to Bulgarian press.

Manchester United are starting these days negotiations for Dimitar Berbatov. The manager of the Red Devils insists Berba to be drowned in the present winter transfer window.

As we informed you on Tuesday, December 25, from the leadership of Tottenham announced that would say goodbye to their star for 20 million pounds.

Last statements of the London squad told that they got no intentions of selling the Bulgarian.

Itís not impossible that the deal will be completed this December or in the beginning of January next year.

The teams of Arsenal, Man City and Juventus are also interested in the Tottenhamís striker, but the Red Devils are truly decisive to take Berbatov to Old Trafford."

Poor English aside, Bulgarian press is usually 'in the know' when it comes to Berbatov. It's a bit strange since we already have Saha, Rooney, Tevez and Manucho...but the more, the merrier.

Don't worry lads, once you sell Berbatov or Defoe to United, you'll have money to buy a couple of quality defenders and a goalkeeper. So it's a win=win proposition for both sides.

I personally wouldn't want Berbatov. With the potential of the partnership of Rooney and Tevez, how would Berbatov deal with not being used very often.

Tevez looks seriously injured, we need to buy a back-up.

SAF is too clever to sign berbatov. OK we could use a player of his calibre but Berbatov is a disruptive influnce in the dressing room if he does not get his way. Be assured this will happen with SAF. When it does happen Berbatov will follow the like if Beckham and Van Nistelroy as great talents who left the club because they didnt fit in with SAF strict edicit.

Utd should continue the run of signing young talents. Some player in or around the age and talents of Aston villas young or agbonglahor would be ideal though he himself would not be up for sale.

At the back a proven right full would be needed to replace Brown and Neville. Alavs would be ideal but would come with a hefty tag.

Another point. None of us on this blog really know what resources fergie has in front of him or who he is looking at so i suppose we will just have to wait and see

We wont buy Berbatov in January but we need a striker of his ability obviously.

What happens if Rooney or Tevez were out for a large amount of time. Saha is not dependable enough and we need someone extra.

Berbatov would be amazing with his close ball control and ability to free players and hold the ball up, but i dont think we will get him in January.

Lahm would be a tremendous buy just now!

I think Berbatov must go in Old Trafford.I know him from 8 years and he will be the greatest transfer for Alex. He is a little bit lazy but very ellegant and witty player. I really hope to sign as soon as possible. Dont go in Chelsea Berba!!!!
