erm 30,000 fans turned out to see Hamilton at the FoS at Goodwood?

Well the tickets and the day had been decided on months ago, so whilst it was good to see Hamilton there, pausing on the hill before booting it away, he wasn't the reason we went.

I didn't detect too much Hamilton mania there, but I wsn't at Goodwood house, I was up the hill so...

I was there to see Hamilton pull away from the paddock at the top of hill when he did his later run in the afternoon.

""30,000 fans turned out to see Hamilton at the FoS at Goodwood?""

I was informed Lord March made more tickets available on the Sunday once he had Hamilton booked.
I suppose it must have been 30,000.
Miserable event last year, though. The best day was the Friday.
I won't order tickets early now!
Even though it will not be possible to predict the weather when I order, at least I get the interest on the money in MY bank account!

I hadn't noticed. Thank you autounion smiley

The main thing leaping out at me from the BBC website is the killing of Bhutto and many others, and Wenger not being too worried about Utd. going top.

Back to the matter in hand. That thread from before Christmas about Hamilton getting too much press exposure.

I'm trying to square that sentiment with the David Croft hour long piece that was broadcast on Christmas day.

I think it was an amazing season, and trying to say that presenters get over excited seems not to do it justice. It reminded me of what was going on in my mind during the season.

Monaco does have a bit of glamour, and Hamilton having previously done well did bode well. It was quite a show.

The show did also cover spygate.

I'm trying to weigh up the sentiment that Hamilton is over exposed and 'hyped' with what he's actually achieved. He has done something special, and I see nothing wrong with setting your sights high and going for it.

I don't see setting an objective as cocky, or big headedness, and it's no different from what many drivers in all series have done before.

pacific_ocean_blue1, I was unaware that extra tickets were made available once Hamilton's attendance was announced.

We'd booked the tickets ages before. The family knows a member that get's some discount, or preference.

Sunday was bleak, the car slid sideways leaving the car park, and I was a back seat driver advising of a different route across the grass that tallied with the path the car seemed to be intent on taking.

I think the plan is to go on Friday in 2008.
