Thanks god we have Ronaldo today!
He really is a great player and he is getting more and more outstanding.
We have not lost any game this year when he or Rooney was on the field!
The turkey will have a greater taste now!.

As a Liverpool fan, i watched the game and on balance Utd deserved to win.Everton had a go and fairplay to them for that but the same thing happened to us last week whereby Utd always defend well and just have options all the time, they always look like they might nick something?Good game never the less though!
And to clarify a few things, we are just about out of the title race.....but can make it uncomfortable for the others by staying close. and one last thing, definate penalty aswell as piennar was so silly but they had a go.

No question about it we were stupid to give that penalty away and yakubu was shocking.

Any talk we reily on Ronaldo too much is rubbish. Giggs was outstanding today and he won us the game by getting the penalty. Other than the goals Ronaldo was kept quiet because of a lack of service from both of our right backs (in each half) and carrick who looked lost throughout.

Luck... is where preparation meets opportunity. If you think how many games united have won in the last 16-17 years by scoring in the last 10 minutes that's a hell of a lotta games, what you call luck doesn't come into it!

Ronaldo should have been named player of the year in 2007, it is becoming more obvious each week. As a team, Man.united have a lot of great players but Ronaldo at the moment provides that moment of magic when the rest of the team is struggle. In terms of goals he has saved us on so many occasions already this season.
To have scored 11 league goals at this stage of the season is incredible for a midfield player - plus 5 more in the champions league.

once Rooney gets back to ihs best we will be unstoppable again this season and although Arsenal have been the best team up to now, the 1 point gap can be easily overturned.

I don't understand why anyone should start to make comparisons between Torres and Ronaldo. Like it's already been said, Ronaldo is a winger and Torres is a striker. But Ronaldo has scored 3 more league goals than Torres has. And Ronaldo can change matches in a whisker of sublime brilliance, either with his assists or goals. Remember last year at Anfield? With time almost up, he hit a scorcher that the Liverpool goalie spilled only for Oshea to score the winner. Last time Liverpool got any mastery over Man Utd in the league was 2001. That should count for something.

Before I digress, remember the curler against Sporting in the Champions League? Can Torres score from free kicks? Fact that Torres hasn't made the list of world players for this year should be enough to show who belongs to the A-list right now. You also have to take note of the importance of the goals Ronaldo scores. Many are match winners. His assists too, sometimes, prove crucial. If I had to pick between the two, Ronaldo would definitely be the incontrovertible choice. I guess Torres would make a lethal combo with Ronaldo though!

Man Utd started the season with two draws and a loss, while Liverpool and Arsenal had a runaway start, scoring goals at will. Now see who's heading the pack in terms of goal difference. So people, before you start to second-guess players, take a 3D approach in your assessments. You have to admit Man Utd are a great outfit.

Ronaldo is definately a top class player, and in my opinion he is the best player in the world at the position he plays in. But that's not to say United 'rely' on him: hey is a key player but it's not like without Ronaldo we'd be mid-table. He's a matchwinner, and every top team has one. However I'd say Chelsea rely a lot on Terry, Lampard and Drogba. Liverpool rely massively on Gerrard and Torres. Arsenal showed they're still an awesome team without Fabregas.

United don't depend on Ronaldo, but he is a match winner and he is important for us.

I agree Ronaldo is Utd's star player and can turn matches around in a flash, but I would like him to do that in the big matches against the top clubs.
Last CL he had no glimmer of his brilliance against AC Milan in the semis and Kaka on the other hand was tremendous so I would have also given the world player award to Kaka.
Still I think Ronaldo can be better than Kaka in a 3 years time.

We here in Ireland have an eejit called Eamon Dunphy who is obsessed in a nasty hateful way towards Ronaldo so much so that a lot of kids here switch from RTE to the BBC coverage because of Dunphy's petty vindictive nature. Dunphy's backed himself into a corner so much so that no matter what Ronaldo does in a blindingly positive way still he carps in a totally irrational manner. The fact is Ronaldo lights up football he gets kids excited and was a major factor in utd winning the premiership and is proving so this year as well. At the end of the day players are judged on what they have won and Ronaldo hasn't started to badly has he?. A crucial player for united simple as that!
