thistlecoach (U1891392) posted Dec 22, 2007 The debate goes on about our next gaffer BUT (and i am probably in the minority) there should be only one person for the job..RAY LEWINGTON!!!! He played for Fulham, was the Fulham boss many years ago (and did a good job) and by the looks of our performance today, has the players' respect. I liked his after-match interview which was a refreshing change from the clueless state of Sanchez. I know the temptation is there to go outside but....Mr.Fayed.....STICK WITH LEWIE!!!!!!!!!!

We played with no creativity and when he bought steve milton well that was the icing on the cake!!! No ray lewington is not the right man for the job. Not if we are to survive in the premiership! Behave yourself!!!!!

donkabel (U10703106) posted Dec 22, 2007 interesting to hear Clint Dempsey on Radio 5 on my way back from the game. Said that he preferred RL letting them play with more freedom. The interviewer tried to suck him into a bash Sanchez moment and he managed to be very diplomatic but the essence of his comment was clear. Sanchez forced the team to play his pathetic brand of 'direct' football and Dempsey for one wasn't happy with it.

thistlecoach (U1891392) posted Dec 22, 2007 fulofhope - you don't know me therefore are not in a position to comment on whether i watched Lewington coach or not. I was back then, as i still am, a season ticket holder at the Cottage. The temptation is always to look outside however i feel that we don't need to be so rash...were you at the game today?? If you were, you have to acknowledge that we played much better today; i stand by my view that Lewie has the players' respect - he may not be the big name that most want, but he'll get the most of the boys. As for the reference to Steve Milton, heaven help the manager who doesn't make errors of judgment!!!!! Nevertheless....regardless of who gets the job, as long as we survive the drop this year, i'll be happy (and relieved!!).

TeaTimeAtHarrods (U9112991) posted Dec 22, 2007 "Thistlecoach" is a deluded if honourable supporter.Lewington has shown his inadequacy before so why even consider him.He is mediocre at best. also noted the other inadequate idiot on the bench today-les Reed.what the hell is he even doing in the same postal district.time to throw out this alter of dross that we seem to think is ok for a club like Fulham.Lets remind ourselves that we are in the highest league of the worlds best league and never should settle for second best-that should rule Collins out too.Lippi or Bilich it has to be.Anything less is one sandwich short of an Harrods food hamper.
