Micah reflects on past year

Premier League Manchester City
comment on the article

It hasn't been a great week for Micah Richards - he told me he was "devastated" about Manchester City's defeat by Tottenham when I spoke to him for his latest column.

But Micah was a lot happier with the appointment of Fabio Capello as England manager a few days ago.

After winning all of his 11 caps so far under previous manager Steve McClaren, he is looking forward to the challenge of earning a place in Capello's first squad for the friendly against Switzerland on 6 February.

Not that he knows where he will be playing if he gets picked!

Micah also talks about having another foreigner in charge of England, the language barrier, and the importance of having an English presence on the coaching staff.

Just a reminder - Micah doesn't participate in the discussions on 606. You can use them to submit questions that I will ask Micah or to give ideas for future columns. As many as possible will get asked.

And sensible questions only please!

Because of the Capello appointment, I didn't get a chance to ask Micah about how he feels the last 12 months have gone for him.

2007 has been a big year for him, mostly highs, like his England debut and Manchester City's transformation but a few lows too - the big one being England's failure to reach Euro 2008. If there's any questions you'd like to ask Micah about how the last year has affected him - or anything else - then get in touch, as this is a subject we will be covering in the new year.

Thanks,
Chris

Micah i have three questions for you:

Why dont ever answer your fans' questions?
Are committed to Man City i.e. when will yo sign?
Isn't it wrong to ask for money from the club that devloped you and made you the player you are today?

Come on Mic give us an answer.

micah why would you want to leave city the way we are improving, i understand that i don't know the full story about the contract negotiations, but i think you should sign it as soon as considering we gave you your debut. also when we defend corners we don't break quick enough why don't you get sprintin to other end of the pitch like at the start of the season?

Micah, i think you'd make a great box to box midfielder and this position would play to your strengths more than defence. What do you think about this?

Also please sign for newcastle.......

Hey Micah,

Firstly, I'm a big fan of you and I think you have exactly the right temprement for the England squad and to improve your game.

Secondly, I'd like to know if you think that footballers are role-models for youngsters in society and if you think they should try to project a positive image as such (particularly given their, quite distasteful, enormous wages)?

Thanks Big Guy,

Your Biggest Fan, JD

P.S. who do you think is the greatest right back of all time?

Are the talks about you hesitating about signing a new contract true?
i know you havent signed one, but is it because your not sure whether you want to?
and why would you leave a team that created you into one of the most promising prospects in football?
answers?
