Your spot on BaggieJim you did dominate that day and in my opinion that was the best performance from any opposition I saw all season yet we still won. At the end of the day its about how many times you stick the small round thing in the net. Nothing else wins you a match.

As play-off winners, we were always favourites to go down.

Maybe what is so disappointing this season has been the manner of our performances and all too ready capitulation with a glaring absence of the resilence we showed last season to get out of the CCC.

To survive in the PL means quality and honest endeavour was never going to be enough.

I think one major criticism that can be levelled at Billy Davies, and what makes him a B-list candidate for the Scotland job, was his failure to utilise the European transfer market & PL loan system. He made efforts (Varynyn, Svento)but Derby should have adopted the Bolton approach under Allardyce to get in short-term loans if the finance was not available.

I totally agree with your points .. Why didn't BD make use of the European transfer market?? It seems that Craig Brown may have benefitted from a few European hoildays on his so called scouting missions!

Super
I know! You'd have thought he could've helped Billy with his contacts. I'm not knowing saying we would have stayed up but it was obvious that we lacked quality.

Surely the board & Billy could have sat down and worked out another strategy if the resources weren't there for big signings.

I welcomed the signings of Earnshaw & Feilhaber but the fact neither seem involved makes you wonder if the fees paid for them couldn't have been used for paying loan players.

I must admit i slated Brum for buying a whole new starting 11 but it seems that is what was needed. Shame we didnt take a gamble but how fragile Football clubs finances are these days it wasnt worth it.

Admittedly Brum had a stronger team than ours last season but they definitely did what we should have done over the summer and recruit foreign talent. For example their midfielder Kapo, ex-Juventus and a quality player that didn't cost mega bucks

Darlodelboy.
Ok show me up .
you scare me so much.
What is it ?
you are better than Derby because you built the first railway between you and Stockton?
Darlington/Man Utd.
You are having a laugh.

Do any of our players actually want to shoot at goal? I was there on Saturday, and it seemed whenever we had a decent chance, we just passed it away rather than have a shot. Need to take our chances more.
