aries22 (U1946540) posted Dec 14, 2007 West Bromwich Albion were the first club in the Premiership to be bottom at Christmas and escape relegation (that was in 2004-05) and only then on the very last day of the season and by a miracle when three other results went our way. Still, the clueless Bryan Robson failed to see the writing on the wall and he took us down the very next season.

alforderby (U9380325) posted Dec 14, 2007 Aries why'll i agree bigger sized clubs cannot rest on their morals, that bigger eguals better (that would make us like Notts and leeds), at the same time we are a bigger and better than southend (no offence) that is fact and therefore they should not laugh at us as they are not better off. I have a sayying "that you should not critise some-one who is better than you," like i will never critise my mate phil, who was one derby's under 16 cross country runner for getting 4th in his last run, instead of 1th as i could never even probly finish it. lol

aries22 (U1946540) posted Dec 15, 2007 Alforderby, yes you are better than many smaller clubs in terms of many things, but if you take even a non-league club like, say, Bishop Auckland in County Durham, they're a well-run club and they do the best they can in the league they play in and they've got a great history in amateur football. Who's to say that Bishop Auckland, in their own way, are not as "good" as Derby County? It's the difference between relative and absolute. That's my point, and there's no reason on earth why supporters of Bishop Auckland can't criticise Premiership or other clubs over anything. And yes, at least you and your mate Phil ran the cross-country race - at least you took part. In that sense, you are "as good as" any Olympic champion.
