Mourinho Rules Himself out AGAIN!

International England

comment on the article

Recent news from Skysports claim he changed his mind on Saturday after a "BIG" club promised him the managerial job in the summer.
Anyone surprised by this? I'm not....he's a manager that likes to work with his team everyday and International football wouldn't have given him that.

Jose used England to get himself a better deal at whichever club is after him. Nice little bargaining chip that.

England would be a major backward step for him.

As a UTD fan, trust me i didnt like Mourinho when he was at Chelsea but then immediately he left and MacClaren not able to qualify our team to the Euro 2008, i was one of the guys who thought Mourinho could be the best man to help our team but sad he ruled himself out AGAIN, thats sad

I hope England get a very good quality manager - they need it. A very good manager can get more out of a group of players than their general capabilities - i.e. Croatia, Sweden, etc. but the players must be willing to play for their country with pride. After the recent showing against Croatia, the first thing a new manager must do is to get each player to play with pride, not just for the money.

would have been great to have Mourninho as the coach, but stop wasting time on all this rumour, and talk to people who actually want the jobs. Oh and the media should let the manager-elect run the team and not influence the manager

who would actually want the england job??

inheriting a bunch of overpaid, arrogant, underperforming players. not to mention the media "experts" who call for your head when you lose a game. oh and the general public that are apparantly to stupid to have their own opinions and just listen to what the sun tells them.

the only good thing about it is the payout when you get sacked. actually now i think about it...sign me up for some of that

A narrow escape to be honest. He managed to take a squad of superstars and turn them into a negative long-ball team who were fortunate to have enough class to still walk away with enough to win titles, despite the restrictive tactics.

Like him, rate him or loathe him, tactically he was a long way from being suitable for England, and would have been a backward step for the team.

Right now we need to focus on getting stuck into teams, attacking the ball and scoring goals, and there are other managerial options which are far more suitable.

Ryucoo, you have no idea what you're talking about - and I'm putting this kindly.

What "squad of superstars" did JOSE have at CHELSEA? You must mean overpaid, in which case I'd agree. I'd also agree that their transfer price was way too high. But blame ROMAN and his gigafortune for this, not JOSE.

As to CHELSEA playing "long ball", you must be taking the piss. CFC were accused of playing controlled, possession football under MOURINHO -- and this was true for the most part. But you can't have controlled, possession football with "long balls"! What you want is short, quick passes and constant moving about in the centre - which is what CFC were about.

Wash your eyes.

Jose Mourinho is a clever chap.
He is going to use this opportunity to get himself a fatter paycheck at an Italian or Spanish Club.
