I see Alonso appears to have negotiated for a No.1 status within the Renault Team for 2008. I guess he doesn't want to go through the same "Groundhog Day" of 2007 in being upstaged by another hot-shot rookie like Nelson Piquet Jnr, which is likely to happen as Piquet is very good.

swnyrmor....

Clearly you have annointed yourself as the "chosen One" whose sole purpose on this forum is decide what you think is good and whats not.

So if you agree with what someone says you applaud them for talking sense if you don't agree with someone you called them childish.

I thought this was a forum for discussion, debate and reasoned argument. I was also under the impression that you could wax lyrically about anything (provided you stick to the house rules).I wasn't aware that they appointed self style critics as well.

Its bad enough getting ANY opinion posted on these forums when you have moderators with a big marker pens, now we have critics as well.

i thought the idea was if you didn't agree with someones opinion you put forward a counter agreement or view, Or just ignore it altogether..

ummm seems like I'm to juvenile to figure things out for myself

Alonso did not kick Kovi out because of his contract:

Flavio picked one of the seats: Alonso
A Mexican billionaire sponsor picked the other seat: Nelson Piquet Jr.

No room for anyone else

The rest is history.

I have just read a report that the reason Kovi was kicked out was because it was thought he was good enough to challenge alonso on the track in the same car. If this is true then it really does show how scared he is of competition and how insecure he his about his ability.

The perfect thing to happen for me is that Nelson Junior will finish ahead of alonso at the end of the season. But we all know that will never be allowed to happen as Renault will not want to upset their pampered one

Why is so difficult to get the real facts right. The reason why Kovi was kicked out was not because he is good enough to challenge Alonso but because Carlos Slim who is a Mexican billionaire and now is sponsoring Renault imposed the condition of hiring Nelsinho Piquet.

I'm delighted to see that Alonso has signed for Renault. Hopefully they have a worthy car for the 2008 season. I totally agree with avelha and capricornvladimir. I just can't understand Mercedes continuing to sully their name by continueing to have it linked to Ron Dennis. I felt so strongly about last seasons events that I have declined to continue with the order for the new C Class. I used to drive Renaults long ago. Maybe I should go back to that stable.

Jennycclass - I too am dissatisfied - however with Ferrari not MM.

I have decided not to buy a red 599 GTB. What a loss to Maranello! (and me).

I have a very old Golf GTi... now how happy would I be if VW were in F1?

KR is good no doubt, but has been lucky enough though to cash on the internal struggle of the McLaren team that and mainly that helped him to secure his first title.
Has the McLaren team behaved as any F1 top team would & should - in the same situation, the title would go naturaly to Fernando Alonso.
