Who will win?

comment on the article

Note that title carefully - not who SHOULD win, but who WILL win?

According to every bookmaker out there, Lewis Hamilton is now such an odds-on favourite that he's almost at the chequered flag already. Ricky H's defeat in the early hours of Sunday morning has seen him drift out as far as 9/2, with Joe Calzaghe at 10/1, Paula Radcliffe at 25-1 and Jason Robinson at 100/1. All the rest are considered to be trotting along at the very back of the field.

Of course, with voting not underway until the live show begins on BBC One at 1900 GMT, it's all still absolutely up in the air.

What do you think? Is Hamilton home and hosed, or can Ricky reign supreme? Will Calzaghe's clout come to his rescue, and is Paula's pluck enough to see her take a second title?

Will win. Not should win. That's the only rule...

All I can say is thank goodness the right person won. When I saw who the 10 possibles were I was worried that yet again this daft trophy would go to another plucky loser or someone not long out of nappies. But no, the public chose someone at the very top of their sport and was a winner. Thank God!!

Typical of the BBC. If it's not boxing, rugby, golf or F1 the BBC don't want know. It really cheesed me off last night when they were having a few minutes remebering all the sports star that have sadly passed away. No mention of you talented lad called Ollie Bridewell. Efven if the BBC can't be bothered i can RIP Ollie you are sadly missed.

Calzaghe sounds more like a pizza. Now i'd sooner him win than Lewis Hamilton. But come on Hamilton got second what has he achieved this year only 2nd in F1 oknay it was his rrokie year. Yet we have another world champion in the top 10 by the name of James Toseland. But because this country is anti bikes he didn't stand a chance.

But well done to Calzaghe and Hatton.

Catch a grip! Joe got the recognition he deserves for 10 years at the top and outclassing Kessler, the only other fighter in the same league as him at Super-Middlewight. Toseland won the British Superbike Championship, not even the World Superbikes or Moto GP, so hoew can you say he's in the same league! Congratulations to Joe, you deserved it mate...

I think you'll find that James Toseland is the World Superbike Champion.

Sorry, you're right of course. Northern Ireland's Johnny Rea came 2nd in the British Superbikes didn't he and he's moving up to the Worlds next season isn't he? Isn't Toseland moving to Moto GP next season? If he emulates Casey Stoner and is the 2008 Champion then he has to be in the running next year...

I not disouting that Clazaghe donesn't deserve it my gripe is more that Bike sport doesn't get the recognition it should. Especially as we have a world champion that got a 2 minute mention in the national news and about 2 sentences in the press and Hamilton who got countless mentions and full page spreadds.

I have no great love for Rugby at all, but Rugby League is only a bastardised version of Union that in the UK is only played in the North Of England. For that reason they shouldn't get anywhere near the "Team Of The Year" award...
