Shevchenko goal vs. sunderland

Premier League Chelsea

Shevchenko scores his 4th goal of the season, with a header an assist cross by kalou.

Shevchenko will get more chances now as drogba is out for several months because of knee operation.

Sheva looks more sharp, fast and more fit than last season.

If sheva gets a good run of games, he will gain confidence and score goals because on his day sheva is the best striker there is at scoring goals. Sheva will be a great replacement for Drogba.

"sheva looks more sharper, faster and more fit than last season."

Agreed, hes looked sharper ever since its been revieled hes training with Darren Campbell. Hes only started 3 games since then and scored 2 goals. He also gave a man of the match performance against Leicester. What people need to remember is that it takes time to adapt and he hasn't been given big enough opportunities. Form is Temporary, Class is Permanent.

These are opinion discussion forums. There is no right or wrong. Anyway, Sheva needs time and confidence. No manager has shown that to him since Ancelotti. His challenges and issues are "between his ears" so to speak, and not in his heart nor legs. Mourinho didn't want him and was obliged to get him. In the end, he payed with his job. Mind you, JM couldn't care less where he's boss as he's laughing to the bank counting all his cash.
Sheva should get more playing time as we move on. He's still a lethal threat and will only get better as he starts and aclimatizes himself to his club mates and tactics. Bravo Sheva. Forza Chelsea!

Sheva will come good. He's already starting to come good. Were now that much closer to taking the top spot, with only ManU looking like they will give us grief. Of course, still early, but that's my opinion. Sheva is gonna need to prove himself now, this is do or die, and this is also the opportunity he has been waiting for I'm certain. Kalou is no slouch and between the two of them the goals should keep coming. Ballack is also gonna cause people some grief this season, I have a feeling. Now we just need to go to Emirates and smash them of the top of the table. Not easy of course, but I think the combined experience of Chels is gonna overwhelm Arse. Go put one on them lads.

I must admit, I was really fed up at the Sunderland fans for booing Frank Lampard esq on Saturday, it all seems so childish, but now I have just read on the BBC web site that Mickey Rooney( of all people) is doing panto in Sunderland this year, so maybe the Sunderland fans were just getting in 'panto mood ' for Mickeys arrival. Maybe Sunderland should sign him, he is the same height as Wayne and a lot better looking and at his age your probably get him for a couple of million !

as many people have said, sheva relies on his own confidence more than anything. if grant shows some faith in him and gives him a run of consecutive games that he performs in (goals or assists), he can be effective. i still don't think that he will ever be as prolific as he was at milan, but he can still get 10 odd league goals this season i think.

the more pressing issue is the return of essien. we need him in the midfield as an achor so other midfield players can score goals.

I agree with sistig. Grant needs to start playing him more and more now that Drogba is out for a while. It will be a big mistake by grant not too as he is going to rely on Sheva more and more now and he needs the match practice if hes to gain the confidence to take on some of the best defenders in the world that are in England. If this is an another absolute waste of a season for Sheva then his time in Chelsea is over as far as the first team goes.
