Who will dominate in Beijing?

comment on the article

British wrestlers have one last chance, at the European Championships in Finland in March, to qualify for Beijing.

So far, none have reached the standard required in an event Britain traditionally struggles in.

In fact the nation has not medalled since the Los Angeles Games in 1984, when Noel Loban claimed bronze in the freestyle light heavyweight event.

Russia are expected to dominate, but who do you think will walk away with the medals?

Not sure if that's directed at me or not, but iv not taken the mick out of anything, just expressing my opinion, which has become increasingly hard to do on here.

Nah mate not you, but there was quite a few comments by others taking the mick, and just felt that it's strange seeing posts like that from the people here. I personally don't have much interest in olympic wrestling, but posts about it are as deserving to be here, as those the rest of us have made, without it getting ripped on.

Worthy - that may happen. Not going to make any promises at this stage, but watch this space for further developments.

And Bazzz - the BBC is the Olympic broadcaster and we are following all sports at the Games.

I know we may not have an representation in Beijing and that will be a huge shame, but we want to promote the sport where we can and it makes sense to give it a push around the Olympics.

The same is true of many Olympic sports which only get mainstream coverage, rightly or wrongly, in Olympic year.

606 is a forum to give fans, and newcomers to the sport, a platform on which to find out more and debate the issues going on within the sport.

And if I had linked up to every sport bar wrestling on 606 I would have been rightly castigated.

So, no, it's not to justify wums! ok

The weird thing is a love pro wrestling, but have never watched olympic wrestling, which is classed as amateur wrestling? Whats all that about, A sport that isn't fixed is called amateur and the one that is, is called pro, never really understood that. Im going to be following the amateur wrestling scene a lot more now, Can be quite interesting to watch.

Peter, would you consider renaming this section Amature Wrestling/Olympic wrestling if this is to stay on the forums? WWF wrestling isnt a sport, its not athletic, its a joke and i cannot believe its been allowed to be discussed on a real sports forum. Its just not on, people who want to talk about the REAL sport of wrestling are probably afraid to come on here because the fake wrestling fans would have the nerve to take the mickey out of them for enjoying the real sport of it.

BTW you said this on here:

"people who want to talk about the REAL sport of wrestling are probably afraid to come on here because the fake wrestling fans would have the nerve to take the mickey out of them"

and on here http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio1/F8902580?thread=4872165&post=56694073#p56694073 you said this:

"Grow up. Really...utter babies the lot of you"

Bit of a contridiction isn't it.

For the record I wouldn't take the mick but your bound to get the odd one or too WUM taking the mick as it happens even now.
