Will US complete softball sweep?

comment on the article

Softball will cease to be an Olympic sport after the Beijing Games.

The women-only event was introduced in the 1996 Games and the three tournaments played have all been won by the Americans.

Britain have not qualified for Beijing which will see the US, Japan, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Venezuela and the hosts, China competing for gold.

Japan did beat America at a recent tournament suggesting it may not be a straightforward gold medal for the Americans.

Who do you think will take gold?

Well, the law is (or was) that Olympic hosts can introduce new sports, and that's what the USA did, introduce 2 Sports that gave them the best chance of more medals.Good riddance to this one-side sport.
