It says so much for NU's ambitions when a draw against Arsenal is celebrated like they've won some trophy already. Reminds me of that huge crowd they had when they signed Owen. Come on the Toon you can surely do better than that!

I think its laughable that Big Sam was under pressure in the first place, and even more laughable that a draw has 'eased' the pressure supposedly...how can one game change a manager's status?

give the bloke a chance, as much i hate him and his style of play, he has been successful at bolton and he will be at newcastle. just get off his back and just stay behind him and the team.

as for us:
1.give bentner a chance and leave eduardo out
2.keep gilberto on the bench, play diarra who shows heart and soul
3.buy a CB and let senderos leave. ideally christopher samba, what a monster

we got a point away from home (apparently where we are weak and going to defintely lose the title) to a mid-table team whilst playing shit. and missing 3 of our best players this season to boot...

yep alls not well in the arsenal camp....doh

well played newcastle. played your socks off but we still got a point and thats how titles can be decided of course. we cant play brilliantly every week. its important to grab points when playing badly as well.

lets face it we had villa, newcastle and borough away. i at least would expect 5 points from that. we can still get 7. i thought we would win all 3 but thought 7 points was more realistic. have to say i thought the draw would be at villa.

Newcastle 0-3 Liverpool

Apparently Newcastle were poor and any team could have beaten them!

Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

Apparently Newcastle were good and deserved a point!.....Had it been Liverpool the reports would be about "Liverpool championship pretenders".And how the beautifull game played by United and Arsenal is too superior to the rest of us! Just a point!

Newcastle played brilliantly yesterday, considering their recent form. After Adebayors goal, I think Arsenal only really had a maximum of 2 decent chances, and I dont think they even had another shot on target. Newcastle had a huge bunch of half chances, a incorrect offside call, and bad refereeing when he didn let Milner play on after a bad tackle.

Well done Toon, expecc
t a similar performance, and better result at the weekend against Brummie.

Newcastle were poor against Liverpool and poor last night. Arsenal were just poorer and Newcastle got heart from knowing that. By the 65th minute Newcasle knew that Arsenal were on the floor for the counting and they (NC) could switch to kamikaze football because they were unlikely to see any action at thier goal mouth for long periods of time.
As for Arsenal the difference between this and last season is Gallas - leader, motivator, mover - just unbelievable. However, although AW is near perfect as a coach, he has a weakness wich is going to be exploited by every inferior team he plays. I watched the game against Sevilla, the one against Villa and Newcastle last night. When his team are under pressure and running out of ideas, he is apathic most of the time. The players look at the bench nd all they see is their boss complaining about a push that happened 2 minutes ago or something. There is the whole week to do that AW! No leadership, no action to change the game, no one to assure them that they are still in it, no one to make the big decisions in real time. I hate to say this but JM is JM for precisely these situations. When your team are playing well like Arsenal have done most of this season then the leaders have done thier homework well. When they face adversity on the pitch the leaders have to be there. All in all Arsenal got a point yesterday but it was a weak point. With so many matches left I don't see them keeping it tight.

Arenal did have four midfielders missing in Hleb, Fabregas, Flamini and Diaby. All of whom could have provided that essential piece of creative link play that was unfortunately missing.

really to be honest i dont see what the fuss is about, newcastle tried their full best but only squeezed a draw!? doesnt sound good to me, especially when arsenal were missing flamini, diaby, hleb, fabregas and of course persie, our best sriker, really newcastle should have won, and especially at home. but it does make a change from loosing once in a while, but i dont think anything has changed, we'll see next time if they can once arsenal get persie, fabby and the rest back, then newcastle will be tested
