teddy berr (U1124393) posted Dec 4, 2007 The fact is that Rangers DID ask for a postponement, Celtic DID NOT. Neither did Aberdeen. They had the right to ask for one the same as Rangers but chose not too, or didn't even think about it.

MOLLER31 (U9970943) posted Dec 4, 2007 As an Englishman looking in from the outside I would say well done to the SPL (and Gretna) for allowing the Gretna V Rangers game to be postponed. This move will give Rangers a better chance to prepare. Getting through (along with Celtic) to the last 16 would be good for all Scottish football. The argument that Rangers have got something that Celtic didnt get is not Rangers fault no one stopped Celtic making the same request. Its a little bit like two school kids arguing because one has got more sweets than the other one. Some people need to grow up. Good luck to both teams.

dbirney (U7382805) posted Dec 4, 2007 The decision is embarrassing to scottish football. Does this mean that Gretna should have asked for their game off on the weekend just gone, so as to prepare themselves for the Rangers game (which obviously will not now go ahead), just as Rangers are doing with regard to Lyon?

littlejoebhoy (U10362976) posted Dec 4, 2007 A few years ago Celtic were forced to play against Rangers less than 36 hours after an away fixture in Europe. The request to have the game rescheduled was refused by the Scottish FA. Lets not kid ourselves, the Scottish FA would do anything they can to help Rangers and the bare minimum to help Celtic. Please lets stop using the term old firm because it does not exist. This is an insult to the green half of the city.
