I for 1 was not very confident facing blackburn 2day, after last weekends shocker, so to be honest 3-1 is what i expected blackburn are an improving side with a lot of good players, i dont think many teams can go 2 ewood park and pick up 3 points. just need 2 concentrate on the next game at home nd picking up a share of the points.

Speaking as a neutral, Newcastle looked much better this week than last, but your back four needs a big shake up. It appeared that Blackburn could move in to the box at will, so Big Sam is going to have to do something there (and quickly) to stop the porous defending. I get the feeling that although the names may have changed, it is still this area that is going to be your chief stumbling block from a rise up the table.

Full marks to Blackburn. This is a great response to the mid-week drubbing by Villa. Bentley continues to impress, and surely we've got our new England dead-ball specialist?

The second half was a corker. What with the various scrambles in front of goal, the scoreline could have read several more goals.

Rovers fan here. Ah wouldna be depressed about Newcastle today, a draw would be a fair result. Big Sam got it right, you were undone by two pieces of brilliance by Bentley, who if he only spoke French would surely still be Arsenal.
Newcastle won lots of possession, lots of fifty-fifty balls, but ye have no one of real class like Bentley.
My one gripe, there's an argument for a nasty b*** player in each team, but ye've got two, Smith and Barton.
I'm sure it's a question as old as the hills, but why canna ye buy defenders ? Ye spend millions on players and we got Samba for £400,000, Nelsen free and Oooijer for a million.
Perhaps Sparkie can do some part time scouting for Big Sam, they seem to get on well.

Im glad to see people taking positives from the game today from a newcastle point of view, the fans got behind the boys and things dnt look too bad. Bentley was brilliant il have to admit. Glad to see a bit of respect for both teams. Unlike 'Lampard_cfc' who seems to have found hommage in the rectal crevice of Frank himself. Who do england fans boo the most? haha. But yeh anyway bak to the subject well done Blackburn and much improved from the magpiez!

Great win for rovers, seems like its all doom n gloom for the toon army! i did have sympathy for Newcastle, they got rid of quality outfits like TITUS BRAMBLE n "boom shake shake d room" boomsong.. And cos i feel so much empathy for them I thought i'd give them some advice n a step in the rite direction... tell Big Sam to get back with Lil Sam and bring in the one and only legend... Steve McLaren.... Hahaha!

I'm a Newcastle United season ticket holder and i love the club. But what really annoys me if the way some Newcastle fans want the manager sacked after we have a few bad results. Just 5 weeks ago fans were saying Big Sam is the next big thing because we had beat Spurs 3-1. Today i listened to the game on radio and it seems 3-1 was a tad unfair.

Come on lads lets get behind the team for a change and GIVE THE MANAGER A CHANCE.

Newcastle's defence is still dreadful but a pairing of Faye & Taylor would be something to build around.

The foreign lads he's brought in at full back don't look to clever though. Considering the club is meant to be cash rich he'd have been better off going for Glenn Johnson & Leighton Baines. Both are reliable players who'd recognise the scale of the club.

Sam needs to also decide whether he is going to do it his way (ie 433 and direct, in which case he needs a hard working big tough striker and some wide players who'll get goals like Diouf and Stelios did for him) or 442 in which case he needs to start playing the best players in their best positions in that formation (ie no more Zogbia in defence, Martins wide, Smith in midfield)

Tbf, he hasnt had the funds as previous managers. Time for the Toon to splash the cash or are those days over with the change in owners?
