I see Roy Hodgson has resigned from his job as boss of Finland despite leading them to a very creditable 3rd in a tough groupThis guy have a proven pedigree and I think if the SFA have any real ambition to take the national team to the World Cup then this man has to be consideredHe is better than Souness, Davies, McGhee, Calderwood, McAllister, Collins, Levein.....pretty much any Scottish manager who would be interested in the job

You will have to negotiate with Inter Milan, then, since he's joined (or rejoined, more like) them as an international coordinator. Maybe his wife prefers Italian shoes to the delights of Wellies, who knows? But he's (presumably) now out of the frame. Sorry. The Beeb will probably catch up with this story in due course. Meanwhile, take my word for it.

cheers mate i actually read about his Inter moce approx 30 seconds after posting thisdamn shame cos i think he'd have got us to the world cup
Not your fault really. The BBC website is still touting him - and has him as unemployed at the moment. But they haven't updated anything since the initial announcement that he would be stepping down from the national team position. The Inter thing came out at around 2pm your time and effectively put the lid on any speculation - at least that's the way it looks to me.
Yaho Eurosport is now saying: "Roy Hodgson has quit his role in charge of the Finland national team and said he will take up a job working alongside Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti.Hodgson, who twice coached the Serie A side in separate spells in the 1990s, said he had not ruled out the possibility of taking another post with a national team."If a national team wanted to have me they would have to be a) very quick and b) persuade the president to get rid of me before he even takes me on," Hodgson said.He said he would start at Inter in January."Which leaves a TINY bit of wiggle-room, but not much.
it wont happen
with moyes, mcallister & a few other rulling themeselves out....i think it's between Davies & Levein
What about George Burley?
Never thought about Burley but that's great shout. Would like to see Tommy Burns back in the frame too.

It's got to be George Burley!! I have a petition which needs support. He has the expereince, is tactically sound, has knowledge of the Scottish game, and is past the point of being lured by the Premiership - he's been there, done well and never got offered the T-shirt (a big job)Sign the petition below!!!http://www.petitiononline.com/pl4k2905/petition.html
