Championship Leicester City

Ian Holloway

The Leicester manager gives his inimitable views on football and life in general in his weekly column.

This week Ollie talks about his first two games in charge of the Foxes, including the memorable debut at Bristol City where he had a fight with a robin!

He also gives his thoughts on working with Milan Mandaric and Paul Sturrock taking over Plymouth.

Send in your questions for Ollie. We can't ask all of them, but if yours doesn't get picked, keep trying!

Hi Olly
I just wanted to ask how do you think Lee Martin was progressing at Plymouth before you left and do you think he has the talent to be a first teamer at Manchester United

Hey ollie,

Congratulations on your new job and I wish you all the best.

But what do you think about Christiano Ronaldo's chances in the FIFA player of the year polls? In addition to carrying Man U on his young shoulders, he does same job for Portugal too. Certainly Kaka has had an outstanding year too, but methinks Ronaldo deserves to edge the Brazilian, just. And you know he stands to be the first England-based player to earn the accolade, what do you think, does Ronaldo deserve it?

Hollowords how can you compare yourself with luggy? Luggy didn't Bullsh*t us with how he would never leave us unless the chairmen sacked him. He didn't say his blood was green and he didn't take us all for mugs. You did that! Luggy also had a clause in his contract saying he could leave for a premiership club-fair enough no-one can say someone's wrong for wanting that. You had no such clause, you broke your contract and you continue to bullsh*t us! You are nothing better than a media whore and to compare yourself to luggy is nothing short of disgusting.

like another said on here:
we hate you ian hollowords

I wanted to ask hollowords aka alec mcjockstrap! if he understood what he was saying when he said he was king lear or whether he just said any shakespeare play to make himself seem clever?
Did he realise that it was a tragedy? and if so does he see his time at leicester ending in that? Did he get the irony that King Liar is all about greed?-sounds similar hollowords. Did he realise that King Liar's kingdom crumbled around him. Sounds like music to my ears if he is king Lear.
Maybe you wish to reconsider this hollowords. Oh and i can't believe anyone ever found you funny-watching your post match interviews is just plain awkward, you are very immature and to be honest contradictory in all you say. Now the leicester people have booed are you going to walk away because that was the start of the end at argyle?

Hi Ollie,

As a young Leicester fan I've been delighted to see you've been giving some of the younger players a run out this season. Up until lately alot of the young guys haven't really had much of a chance in the first team, and I was just wondering what your general thoughts were on the young players at Leicester? Anyone we should particularly keep an eye on?

Cheers,
Josh

PS
I gave you my lucky guitar pick on the day you got appointed as manager, I take it you took it out of your pocket for the Southampton game!?

Afternoon all,

Thought I'd better drop you a note following the deluge of comments over the past couple of weeks.

Coweslepe: Not sure whether you're on a wind-up or not, given your final comment, but you did raise some interesting points which I shall endeavour to answer.

In the last two columns, together with a news story, I have certainly not shied away from asking about the Plymouth issue - far from it. I asked him Ian why he left, how he felt about Pilgrims fans labelling him 'disloyal', his feelings for the club etc etc - and he answered them.

I realise that many people still don't buy it and would be happy to see his head on a stick in Traitor's Gate but I've got to know Ollie quite well over the last couple of years and I honestly believe he still has great affection for Plymouth - both the club and the town - but took a professional decision that has understandably caused anger and resentment among some fans.

Hopefully Paul Sturrock will continue to do the business for you and as the months roll on things will calm down a bit.

Speaking personally, I always look our for Argyle's results these days and would love to see you go up to the Premier League (although an away trip to Newcastle could be quite a drag)!

Of course there's one team above all other I'd like to see promoted from the Championship, but given that we're currently rock bottom, there's not much chance of that happening!

Cheers,

Chris

Ollie,

Your constant moving house has been well documented in your column, an last time you mentioned you had just moved in or were in the process of moving in to a house you'd purchased in Plymouth. Is the Mrs giving you much earache about you forcing the whole process to start again?

PS. We need to see you in the premiership as post match interviews are dull these days without Jose or Mr Strachan. Match of the day would be much more interesting with a few minutes of your good self on there every week!

Chris,

I admire your faith in Mr H with regard to his love of the Argyle. He loves us so much he is now threatening our chairman that he's coming back for all the players he signed!! Funny what a bit of money/power does to some people and to think I swallowed all that rubbish about loyalty to and love of Argyle in his book. ( Any Leicester fans want a free copy? )
