Premier League Liverpool

According to Thaskin Shinawatra Manchester Citys new owner, they may launch an offer for Peter Crouch. This is breaking news!

I really hope he doesnt go, he adds something very differant to our style of play, he has a brilliant touch, silky feet and scores goals for both club and country. He is someone i admire as a footballer and a person, because he came back from all that critisism and proved alot of people wrong. Id hate to play against him in the premier league! SO PLEASE DONT GO.

But somehow i feel if they offer £15million+ it will be very hard for Liverpool FC too turn down.

Peter Crouch is a fantastic asset to Liverpool and I agree with the majority of fans who say he shouldn't be sold. There isn't another player I can think of who is as tall as he is but has a great first touch, can score plenty of goals and can single handedly change a game with his presence.

We've got a a unique, gifted player here and it would be a waste to sell him. It annoys me that Benitez insists on chopping and changing his forwards at every given opportunity, even when they're playing well and I feel that Crouch has suffered the most because of this.

Against Porto on Wednesday, we had ran out of ideas until Crouch (and Harry Kewell to be fair) came on and changed the game. And it's not the first time he has done it. He's another option and Benitez should realise that he has a type of player that nobody else has and that he could prove to be the difference in many games to come.

Has it ever occured to you that our forwards might be playing well BECAUSE not IN SPITE of being rotated?

Not counting Babel, our strikers have 25 goals between them this season...that's pretty impressive in my book.

"If he cant get in at liverpool week in week out hiw he gunna be in man citys startin 11 every week who are higher in the table.

Game in hand, Liverpool win then Liverpool go second. Higher in the table my foot! they have a whole 2 point with one more match played? Oh scary at the 13 match stage"

your having 1 good season and you think your better than everyone else now
its all about consistency in league places
liverpool havent finished any lower than 5th in the last 5 years
whats the lowest man city have finished?

That's a fair point about the 25 goals, but my point is why drop a player who is playing well? It's only going to dishearten players because they'll be thinking that even if they are playing well and, in Crouch's case scoring goals and changing matches, the next match they're prbably going to be warming the bench. It's ridiculous.

For the majority of this season there has been no consistency to our side and that has proved to be a problem when we've drawn games we should have won in the league, and almost found ourselves knocked out of the Champions League at the first hurdle.

"That's a fair point about the 25 goals, but my point is why drop a player who is playing well? "

But that's exactly my point, don't you see?

If players cannot cope with being dropped, how is it that Kuyt and Crouch have managed so many goals despite being dropped?

How did Torres manage to score a hat-trick after he was dropped for the Brum game?

Besides, players do get rewarded for good performances...they move themselves higher up the pecking order and ensure that nest time there is rotation/injury, they will be the ones picked.

This is how Arbeloa has kept his place, how Kewell has played hi way in.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see Crouch play more, but there's still every chance he will play more...I'm hoping he's put himself above Voro for now, in the same way that Leiva seems to have played himself ahead of Sissoko.

I agree with many that Crouch can be very frustrating to watch and that when he is poor as against Portsmouth he is shocking-although everyone had an off day on that day. However he is a threat and offers a good foil to the pace and engine of Torres and he does score regularly so why would we sell him? He is not for sale and that is the end of it really. I feel Voronin is more vulnerable to the chop as his lack of pace is troubling and he looks too similar to Dirk Diggler the work horse-and we only need one Dirk. We need a nippy small guy with goals in his eyes-another Owen would be great-but where to find him?
