peterovers (U10538087) posted Nov 29, 2007 After watching the highlights last night is was again disgusted with the sending off decision made by MR.DOWD and then to see the arrogant look on his face as he ruins a perfectly good game again! I think its about time something is done, As a big football fan i feel dissapointed time and time again by these stupid decisions. Yes it probably was a penalty but then to send him offer is just a joke, so many thousand fans paid to watch that last night I for one would want my money back!

theharpsicle (U4451825) posted Nov 29, 2007 I have read the previous comments about how lucky villa were and how the majority of our players will be leaving in Jan...well, the difference between "us" and the other so called big clubs is that we have good young ENGLISH players who actually want to play for us and wear the shirt with pride rather than some foreign missionary who leave as soon as they are out of the team...People should get real and start looking at the Villa as contenders for a European place at least this season and Mark Hughes should shut his trap about blaming the ref - his defence were poor and Nelsen deserved to go as it was a goal scoring chance after all...its about time villa had the run of the green...Europe here we come!!

uptheholtewego (U10537082) posted Nov 29, 2007 The comment that "some of your players will leave in january" is a complete pile of rubbish. What basis is that comment made? The fact we beat you at home 4-0 must mean we are massively over achieving??? Get a grip we are a bigger more successful club that Blackburn and always will be, we've just had a few quiet seasons of late is all.

holtender4life2 (U8981179) posted Nov 29, 2007 Why all of the fuss about the sending off? Phil Dowd was ABSOLUTELY correct in law. Agbonlahor was about to have a shot from about 6 yards, so the foul denied an obvious goalscoring opportunity. It doesn't matter how serious the contact was, any offence punishable by a free kick is an automatic dismissal in those circumstances. Well done Phil for having the b@!!$ to do it to the home captain. I agree Villa rode their luck at times, but their (mainly) solid defending and awesome attacking play deserved to take the three points. Bring on the gooners.....

SpeakerKing (U3047140) posted Nov 29, 2007 Yes Blackburn played well and were perhaps unlucky, but that happens in games. The way Villa took their chanes was extremely impressive and that is all you can do. Rovers are right to feel aggrieved by any side that concedes four at home needs to look at themsleves and not the referee, regardless of decisions

Apart from cooing every time Barry touched the ball the guy didnt seem to be watching the same game as me! Gabby gets clattered in the back by a defender with no chance of getting the ball and he says "No penalty"!! He was absolute cobblers.

gebeeze (U7793567) posted Dec 1, 2007 Those Blackburn fans who have been moaning about the sending off have probably never read the rules of the game. I can understand being annoyed at the fact that the rules may be inconsistently applied, but the ref was perfectly within his rights to send nelsen off. And after the first goal Villa were in the ascendancy. We had a similarly frustrating defeat to Sven's Man City- where we were arguably the better team but failed to put away any of our chances, and were defeated by sucker punch. The difference being, Villa went on to be much the better team in the second half- Blackburn kept the ball well for a team with 10 men, but didn't ever look like doing anything with the ball. Villa were always dangerous. Sven- we're coming for ya- watch out! Comment on this article |
