Ohuruogu Allowed To Compete In Olympics

Olympics
comment on the article

British 400m runner Christine Ohuruogu is free to compete at future Olympic Games after successfully appealing against a lifetime ban.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/ath...

This is a boost for British athletics, even though she missed 3 out of competition tests, she has worked hard through her ban and she was rewarded with the gold medal in Osaka.
I think she deserves another chance and she is a fantastic athlete, hopefully she'll do us proud in Beijjing.

I was disgusted to see that the BBC spent more time talking to Christine Ohuruogu than they did summing up the entire season for motor sports.
At least she didn't make the top 3.

Well the public have spoken and out of all those who voted in Sunday nights Sports Personality Awards, 0.71% voted for Christine Ohuruogu.

"Well the public have spoken and out of all those who voted in Sunday nights Sports Personality Awards, 0.71% voted for Christine Ohuruogu."

This is a most unfair comment, as it is likely that the vast majority of those who supported CO and would indeed have voted for her in droves actually MISSED the programme and were watching a different channel because there was a sports day on the BBC.

See you in court.

It was a public vote. If the people choice not to vote, it is still public.

Which court, basketball, squash or something else?

Clearly I seriously overestimated the irony skills of the readership.

I must apologise. I won't do it again.

And in answer to your question... any tribunal that will hear her complaint.

If Christine Ohuruogu doesn't get the support of the British public, do you think she will threaten us that she will go and run for Nigeria instead?

Christine O is just a representation of everything that is wrong with British Athletics - pushing people like Chambers out, but at the same time claiming she is completely innocent.

The same athlete who failed in the same was as a Kenteris or Thanou.

They:

Drug cheats! running from the testers

Her:

"Forgetful" girl next door. A bit dippy.

Then she comes back after 12 months of no competition, and breaks her lifetime best! I'm sorry, if that was a Russian athlete our fans, and athletes, would be shouting from the roof tops.

Then to top it all, she bribes the IOC by saying that if they don't reinstate her, she will run for another country!

She has been welcomed back because she has a chance at a medal. To me, she is as innocent or as guilty as the two Greeks - she just has a better PR team.

Banned from all sprots for life is the only answer.

Then it doesn't matter which country she wants to run for.
