ANDYFBLUE (U10392809) posted Nov 27, 2007 its time Defoe left and persued his ambitions with a bigger club. Tottenham are the perenial underachievers in the game and are stagnant. Dofoe is wasting his prime football years at a club who will always be known as one of the self appointed big clubs with a tiny fan base.

gunnerslover2007 (U10353361) posted Nov 27, 2007 Levy comments that all the big teams have at least four top strikers, and goes on to mention Man U, this clearly is not the case as they have 3 top strikers and the rest are youngsters. At Chelsea and Arsenal the situations are similar. The problem is Spurs have 4 good strikers all coming into their prime now and eager to play games. Considering Tottenhams lack of willingness to sell Defoe in the past coupled with the small amount of firt team chances he gets, especially with Bent there now anyone can see that it would be foolish for Jermaine to sign without being reasonably sure that he will get a bigger part to play or be sold on. If that means that he will get little game time for the rest of the season then what does he care, it would be doubtfully less then he gets already.

Jazbag (U6696996) posted Nov 27, 2007 As an out-and-out striker, He is clearly only going to have one person in mind, Himself. Now, this isn't always such a bad thing, but Tottenham have 4 top class strikers including Defoe, and when you Have Berbatov and Keane in scoring form, and having forged a great partnership, you can't just take them out when another striker get's upset. I can sympathise with him as he does seem to sit on the bench week in, week out, but for good reason, when he does get his chance he rarely gives a performance worthy of a first team place. Also, he gives us something different when he comes on as a sub, a Spark that is most effective when brought on to face a tiring defense.

Mancini4Primeminister (U7027626) posted Nov 27, 2007 Defoe on a free!? I don't know any premiership club that would turn that one down...From an outsider's point of view it doesn't look like it's worked out for him at Spurs - too many, and perhaps rightfully, in front of him and although to many he's better than Keane, Keane has just had an amazing 2 seasons and can;'t stop scoring...Spurs fans, has he been given enough chances to warrant him not leaving on a free?
