My choices... Cappello, because of his record at this level & he is interested, and on the English side... Redknap, knows the game, but will the FA accept him.
Age old question... who would your choice be, & why ?
Sadly with the World Cup Draw taking place, we are destined to play top teams in the early rounds due to our fall in the rankings... so we gotta get it right this time !!!!

No dis-respect to Hodgeson but no-way will he get that job.
ZERO chance!

My choice as an English manager was definately Redknapp... but when our friendly? police force decided to arrest him, that was the end of that... given the nature of our gutter press, that would have been their only interest in him... they would have sent him to hell and back a dozen times before England had even kicked a ball.
(all for cheap and tacky sensationalist headlines... pity they dont have to comply with stricter moral guidelines, they have no crediblilty as far as I am concerned).

Now it seems we must go for the best non-English man available, who without doubt is Mourinho.

I wonder how long it will be before his dirty washing is hung out to dry by the aforementioned scum?

Interesting to see that Barwick has asked John terry and Steve Gerrard for their opinions. Is this an admission that the likes of Terry and Gerrard, no matter how many poor performances they put in for their country, are untouchable? I thought it was the coach who picked the players and not the other way around.

My choice is Avram Grant. If Murinho is considered, Grant is a much better choice. Look at Chealsee results since they swapped managers...

I'm not so much worried about the new manager, as the players.

They live in a bubble where they're adored by their clubs' fans and enjoy success. Suddenly, when they pull on an England shirt, they're not in that bubble any more.

They know that if they play 45 mins of bad football they'll be boo-ed off at half time, which they never get in their club bubble.

We should pick players who can take the pressure, and actually pick up their game for England.

But to do that, we may need a shrink. What's Eileen Drewery up to at the mo...?!

Why do we have to rush to pick a new England Coach. Why cannot Barwick get top managers together, Ferguson, Mouhrino,Rednapp, Wenger etc,to help him solve the problem. As much as we luv Terry Venables, Glenn Hoddle and the failed ex West Ham player.Surely these type of people could help. Why not a temporary manager, while they make up their minds. Remember Joe Mercer, the most, succesful manager after Winterbottom we have ever had.

Got to be Harry Redknapp, possibly assisted by Stuart Pearce or even Tony Adams. Give him the World Cup and Euro's to build his squad. We don't have a divine right to qualify for any tournament let alone win it, we need to lose the arrogance that we have, get behind a English manager and his side as a nation and concentrate on building a squad for the World Cup and beyond.
