Should Beckham retire?

International England
comment on the article

David Beckham has vowed to continue playing for England and says he hopes to be given the chance to win his 100th cap.

Do you want to see him continue?

Again he produced the goods when he came on against Croatia but he will be 35 by the time South Africa 2010 comes around (should England make it).

Is it time for Golden Balls to hang up his boots?

Is he being greedy wanting to continue to achieve that milestone?

Let us know what you think.

didnt say fergie didnt play him,he did, along with 15 odd other players in his 1st 11 as regulars.
---------
laugh 15 players in his first 11 - no wonder they won so much

Can you get it through your thick head that they're maybe just a possibility that Fergie has other reasons for not naming Beckham in his list, considering the incidents that led to him leaving surely you can see just how they're might be some bad blood - maybe there isnt but neither of us know so this whole arguement is irrelevent

Anyone who knows anything about football knows that the United first choice midfield was beckham, keane, scholes, giggs. Other players played but this was the first choice midfield

And i havent made up any stats, look at the amount of games hes played and his goals and assits which are there for all to see, this just demostrates who weak your arguements are you havent got any arguement so you're trying to cliam actual facts are made up - priceless

I'm not into long sermons as some of you are, Nor am I and England fan. I simply believe that Beckham should remain in the England setup. He is what I would describe an Iconic Inspiration and as such needed (yes NEEDED) by both the fans and players. In all my observations of England matches of say the last 7-8 years, Whenever Beckham is on the pitch the crowd rises and the team goes up a gear.

Maybe he is not such a skillfull player these days but England seem lost without his inspiration!

finn youre just a joke mate.So in love and deluded are you by your 5 times tournament and real madrid cre tinous waster "becks" that youre even now accussing the likes of sir alex ferguon of having "alterior" motives for not rating "becks" as hihgly as you and the new-age celebrity crowd do-priceless.Seeing as fergie fell out with keane and cantona before they left and yet still named both in his great list, what exactly are you accusing britains most successful manager of finnaloid-jealousy?laugh

Not accusing him of anything - simply pointing out its a possibility that he fell out with beckham and that has something to do with his opinion - are you that narrow minded you're saying that this could never happen?

End of the day its still someones opinion - not fact or anything of the sort - the point still remains this is all your arguement is based on

Your not even an england fan dwight so i the fact you post this stuff all the time just shows how obessed you are with him

in answer to the question, beckham SHOULD retire to prove that he doesn't seek glory of 100 caps, despite achieving NOTHING in any single one of those caps.

he achieved nothing when he was put up against the best, and thats the real test of whether a player is "world class" or not, thats the point.

So england have had no world class players except 1 group in 66

The point is we wouldnt even have met these top teams if it wasnt for Beckham

no finn, why do you continue to pretend youre that stupid?I can name many england players since 66 who have put in great perfromances against world class opposition and many, many players who have been good enough to stand up at major tournament quarter-final level, something, alas, the "icon",the violently limited one, never was.
