Of course David will get his 100th cap. hes one of the best players on the team and most of you need to give him some slack. id like to see you get on the pitch and do better in front of thousands of people. david is a brilliant player aswell as steven gerrard and frank lampard and i think they all have many years left ahead of them. Come on England, you can bounce back from this.

I hope David does get his 100th. He has been a loyal servant to the English game and overall been a very good role model. In days when young people do not know how to handle stardom, he has added a bit of style to the world of football and done well to keep his head sort of level.
We are very bad at looking after our stars but he has saved us many times.

David Beckham will get his 100th Cap. He should be persuaded to be captain again too.
It is a shame about Euro 2008 but we should focus on the world cup now and win it with Beckham back as captain and the Special One as manager/Coach!

like many people here i cant understand why beckham receives so much ridicual.. seriously on the pitch he has saved England so many times i mean we wouldnt have qualified for euro2004 without his right foot. Too many times he has been used as an escape goat and mclown dropping him was the stupidest decision any manager has ever made. Even off the pitch hes critized for his intelligence :S but out off all the england players and staff he doesnt use stupid gimics and excuses, he tells it straight like it is. beckham for england defiently till the end of the 2010 world cup.

Without a doubt yes - the guy is not only the only English player able to cross the ball but also the player they all look to for guidance when the going gets tough.

Even if it is a token gesture to give him his ton before "we move on" and put the Steve MacLoser era behind us - Beckham fully deserves it!

I've long been a fan of Beckham, and have always backed his inclusion. However, now is the time to look to the future. England won't have another competitve fixture for nearly a year, and the focus has to shift to 2010 World Cup, by which time Beckham will be 35, and as a winger, that's too old. Even Lampard, who will be 32 then must also be considering retirement...

SWP was unlucky to be substituted. He was not one of the worst players.Beckham came on but there was no big improvement. In the first half SWP put in a good cross to Crouch who didn't score ,in the second half Beckham put in a good cross to Crouch who did all the hard work and scored. What else did Beckham do.As usual he took all the corners and free kicks and hit long hopeful balls. how many of them caused Croatia any problems .None.He crossed no better than what went before him.
He has had his chance and like Gerard and Lampard should make way for younger players, who surely can produce better than what we saw last night.
Let's hope the new manager has a good clear out and plan for 2010.I would persevere with Richards but on his showing last night he still has a lot to learn.

-------------------------

What game were you watching? Wright Phillips so far out of his depth even his dad wanted him off. 2-0 without Beckham, 2-2 with him, then statto McClown decided it was long ball time and he didnt get another kick apart from to cover Richards who went AWOL.

AWOL in the style Beckham perfected v any first rate world nation we ever faced in his time.AWOL as in all the quarter-final matches we reached.AWOL as in showed no leadership whatsoever as we limped out v Brazil in 02,Portugal in 04 and Portugal again in 04 and this despite quite comically being labelled the "most famous player in the world".Enough,we have to get away from delusions like the ones that hung around Beckham for so long and move ourselves into a new era of equality and team ethic that does so much for these so-called smaller countries such as Croatia and the like.

There is no doubt Beckham should get 100 caps if not more. He was and still is one of the best footballers we have. How many times must he save England. Starting as a sub in the Croation game was ludicrous, he was more match fit than some of the other flops on that team. When he cam on he not only boosted the team but the crowd as well and as soon as he came on we played much better football.

World Cup 2010 should see Beckham starting in all the games!

Beckham is a fantastic player, I really don't see why he wasn't starting in the entire Euro 2008 campaign. McClaren's main mistake was excluding Beckham, when he has come on in games and turned things around, like creating Crouch's goal against Croatia. His legs are going, yes, but in 5 years time, he's not done yet, he's turned into England's super-sub and I like that. I'd say he'll go out on a high with 115 caps, maybe more.
